Well for what its worth, the GPS's are coming slowly and you are correct, the 300s are there but not till fall now cause we have not enough pilots to fly them, but they are hiring 6 a month for the next couple of months. to get caught up.
I dont think the new hires will be treated un fairly from the guys on the line at all, in fact they will prob be wellcomed sight cause were still short crews. Proving my point is this is now the 3rd month we have had 13 days off . More the better. As for the pay , Well your right it is low, however as managment strides to keep par with everyone else it has to come up other wise you create a training company. we are already seeing this start to take place losing 4 to 5 guys to A/C and the Emerates in the last 3 months.
Its still a great place to work cause mainly of the people and beats commuting to yyz.
Cheers

Canjet Vs Pal
sO SOULD SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT WOULD MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY AT CANJET .. IN REGARDS TO QUALIFICATIONS ... PAL HAS A LOT OF HIGH TIME PILOT THAT ARE VERY SKILLED. A PLANE IS A PLANE. OBVIOUSLY YOU SHOULD UPGRADE FIRST OFFICERS BUT FROM WHAT I HERE A LOT ARE NOT QUALIFIED COULD SOMEONE PLEASE CLARIFY THIS ...
"times are a changing soon pilots will HAVE a say for once"
most of the F/O's are qualified, but are scared to ask in case it goes against them...another reason for alpa....as for qualifications??? captain on the space shuttle would help(or capt on a dash, because management considers this the same thing)....no seriously management should respond to that, because they are seem to be the only people who know...
Now up to six pending Westjet interviews. Then there are the guys who are just waiting to see what happens before they apply. It's totally bizarre, they supposedly were trying to attract WestJet FO's with the DE "recruitment bonus", instead guys are interviewing to go there! Ironic, n'est pas?

Contracts
PAL aquired the antilles contract i know that includes curaco but i dont think it was takin from anyone i thought it was a new contract. Also they have apprantly got a contract in halifax flying medavac. ... Who knows mabye they will prepare by laying off some more pilots and hire some more managers to figure out how to get pilots. They are going to get caught behind the 8 ball on there contracts they have lost a lot of support staff there also in AMSD computing .. And there mainteneace division is angry as hell apprently more pilots have gottin interviews with can and west jet .. wonderwhat its really like just working there ??
