This time around it should be exciting as there is a big equipment bid, so you might see some interresting positions...
Be ready for the 320, there were a bunch of opening on it...
Anyway happy flying I heard it is some of the biggest equipment bid at AC,
a few 777 on it, but i guess we won't get near that..!!!

Hi Guys,
Had a 'threesome' going on 123.45MHZ lastnight and thought I'd pass on the rumors I heard from a friend at AC (he's a guy who's job is to know this stuff)
Looks like you do have a nice bid coming out for Tuesday, and its showing 150 system wide newhires. That's with only some of your 777's showing for mid 2007, and not all of your EMB's are on there yet. Also, they are not planning to replace as many 767's since they need the airframes.
I know, kinda' wierd hearing the rumors from a WestJet poster, but it's just a 'courtesy' rumor as I know the source that told me is good.
It's great that two airlines are hiring full steam ahead. WestJet has 10 and sometimes 12 going through every three weeks and with lots of upgrades we're going at max capacity for our 3 simulators.... let the good times roll... we all deserve some fun after the last few years in this nutty industry.

The bid was just posted today. The bid closes on the 28th. The award usually takes a few days 5-7 depending on some variables, and probably early May.bcflyer wrote:Anyone know when the bid award will be out? I was also wondering if there will be a separate cargo divison, (ala Cathy Cargo etc) with the 777 freighters, or will they just use the pilots that are flying the pax birds?
The result is pretty much known right now, because of SPBs. You can read the numbers, and look into the future. There will be some changes to personal SPB's, but that's been looked at too, but I doubt that the bid now will be constructed as well as Andre could have done. Oh, sorry, he's at Skyservice because he told AC they would be very short a 18 months ago, and then took the kick in the ass from management when they tried to lay the blame on him for their fubar. Nothing new, but they did lose a man that has saved them millions if not muti-millions in training costs by creative bid construction.
There is an indication for a large number of hirings at AC! Anyone hired prior to April can bid.
