Just talked to an ex Wjetter on the bus the other day. Seemed pretty happy (still) and didn't mention any problems getting on with AC. He isn't the only one he told me.

AC loves hiring from WJ. It drives up their training costs.

What are your reasons for wanting to come to AC? Just interested of course, WJ seems like a good place to work.

Stay there Hab if indeed you are at WJA,your new contract,no seniority, you don't work with your parents, the dorky hat's, living in a concrete jungle(yyz), the passes are hard to use and the agents..well that's a different chapter of the list. It isn't fun trust me, I'm here.

Whats so hard about using the passes?? You might have to plan a bit around the heavy loads, but its a hell of alot better than paying full fare for a ticket.

Squid, I'm here as well and "trust me" I love it. It's all what you make of it I guess. I use my passes extensively. In 5 years I've been to Europe twice, Hawaii, Mexico twice, Barbados, Bermuda, Florida twice, and Vegas. Not to mention all the places in Canada I've visited as well.

I do agree with you about the Hats though!

So why don't you leave Squid? And if you did where/what would be your company of choice?

Squid, you sound like a new hire. Just curious did you reserch AC or just come in with your eyes wide shut? :?:

I have friends who work at WJ and love it, :P but it can't be any screamin fun to be at the bottom of that heap either. So I don't blame anyone at the bottom of the WJ list or any other company for that matter for sending their resume to AC

2000, so umm not that new. aleast wj doesn't have seniority for say bidding summer holidays or month to month skeds now does it. the pay is ok but that's IT(and shitty for the newhires and even the ones a few years into it as mentioned above). sorry to disappoint, but it's the truth. it's just another company like all the rest. an airplane becomes an airplane no matter what the type after a while. No sense of pride around the shop, just bitching.

Dude, if you hate look elsewhere. Most the new hires I fly with love AC and are happy to be here. 8 years in I've visited Japan, Europe, Hawaii, the Caribean, and all over Canada on passes with little difficulty. In fact our passes are much better than employees of Luftansa, SAS, or BA from what I understand. We have a bidding system that allows you to trade seniority for schedule or dollars. I know of several 5000+ hour Captains begging to get in, even with the poor new hire salary. They know what even a 20 year career here is all about.

Thousands of resumes from all over the world on file at AC. Squid seems to think that being happy with your job means you are not allowed to bitch. In his world, we would all be brainwashed to never speak our minds. Squid, may I offer some advise, take the bitching with a grain of salt. It's done at most places of work. It's normal. AC is a great place to work. Even after CCAA, a merger and all the other "stupidity", it's still a great place. And fortunately, we don't have a British cowboy that brainwashes us. Poor work ethic and union stuff? Why is it our planes are full? They are full to Thunder Bay and they are full to Delhi. Things couldn't be better these days. Cheer up, it's only going to get better.
