Porter Airlines seeks staff at May 6 Recruitment Drive

TORONTO, May 1, 2006 - Porter Airlines will host a Recruitment Drive on May6, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to fill a number of customer service positions as the company prepares for take-off later this year.

When Porter takes flight in the fall it expects to have over 200 staff on>board. "We have already started the selection process for pilots and this>Recruitment Drive is the next step in building a team that will get Porter>off the ground," said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. "The passion and spirit of Porter's management team must be shared by everyone we hire."

Porter is looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals for positions>as flight attendants, customer service representatives, call centre agents,airline ground handlers and line service technicians. Candidates will have excellent communications skills, a friendly disposition, an entrepreneurial spirit and be a team player. The Recruitment Search will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (South Building), 255 Front Street West, on Saturday, May 6, 2006, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Candidates should bring an up-to-date résumé. Lol, it's gonna suck being the 7.25/hr bag handler working a 3hr shift and having to pay 15/day parking and 5/day ferry....

Did anyone on these boards go down to the recruitment drive?.

If so, can they provide any details that they got such as the time they want the jobs to start, wages etc.....

I went down to the recruit drive. it was pretty much just a screening to see who had experience. They gave me a letter saying that they would be calling me back for a second interview. however they didnt have any info on pay and scedualing until the second interview.
