Air Georgian Leather Jackets

Post by rippedoff »

WARNING : RUMOR

I recently heard from a well connected source that those black leather jackets cost GGN at total of $198 each. This would mean that the $450 jacket which they made you pay half of actually made the company $27. Considering the quality of those jackets I feel it has always been safe to say that they are not worth $450. This notion has also been supported by sales-people in leather stores. This would also explain the reasoning behind getting rid of the AC uniform since, although they claimed the new uniforms were cheaper, the numbers indicated they were only very slightly cheaper. If each number was doubled, they would in fact be much cheaper for the company.

I think a job at Air Georgian is a very good job. But I also don't think its fair to rip off pilots making $26K.

My 2 cents. Do with them as you wish. I hope this is not correct.

I'd get your 2 cents back on this one, put it in a cup and a mark it "Jacket Recupe Fund". Or maybe you can convince the company to take the profits from your blessed jackets and donate something to the Northern Communities? We don't worry of such petty things here.

Or, you could sit on these facts for a while, then try and claim something from the federal government, squander and mismanage whatever settlement they give you, and then spend the next 400 years squandering and re-squandering the next multitude of settlements the government gives you in order to right your wrong!!

OR we could you could lay off the Native topic all together and realize when you're being played by someone else.

Pointing out facts you say?

History is always written by the 'victor'.

You may look at the world a little differently if you look elsewhere for "facts" other than the ones put in front of you to eat.

Sorry, not in Canada...

our 20 million "part of our heritage commercials" where you see them sending the chinese guy into the tunnels/mountain for the train company with glycern is a fine point of how we don't sweep "important" things under the table. We also paid about 500 million for the head tax that we collected from over a century ago...

Sorry, if we're the "victors" we sure are stupid....

If you were relating to the US, I'd agree, their natives are treated just as they should be per treaties, and "deals" but ours.... Lol, seems like they've been victorious over us, and billions of yearly spending has proven that to be correct....

This is my fault...I shouldnt have chased the redirect off topic after the charlie_g reply.

This is about cool jackets I think.

Any yyz dude. there's a thread in Misc. that went into 6 pages long about the whole native thing...it was a heated debate with me and 'Just Another Pilot'. Im not sure if it got zapped when the site was hacked into. I'm too lazy to dig it up. My point, go over to Misc. if you wanna go toe to toe on this topic OR find the thread...read ALL 6 pages, then get back to me. The back and forths are just that...back and forths. For every rebuttle...I have a rebuttle and the you got one and so on and so on..and guess what...its friday night...Im busy

At Peninsulair we wear sensible jackets so we can pass along the savings to our customers.

Personally I wear 0 underwear as a testament to zippers and my respect for them. I will always be careful.

When I went for my jacket fitting/sizing in YUL, the tailor (and I use that word very loosely) told me that these jackets were of the cheapest quality and that this is what GGN wanted. Persumeably so they can buy them cheap, jack up the price and make a profit. Nice! You know it cheap when if you wear it in the rain, the colour runs.

Do yourself a favour and rip off the seat covers off a Pinto and wear that instead.

Air Georgian is great training for Air Canada. At AC, pilots pay 50% of their uniform cost and it works out to about $750. The current uniform ain't even close to a $1500 suit. The Georgian pilots are already pre-indoctrinated into this abuse and so will require less training at AC.I think that they should receive preferential hiring.

Weren't Pintos the one that had the gas tank at the back and tended to explode when rear ended?

Serves em right for driving right to the end of the merge lane and then stopping. Learn how to merge. If traffic is going 80...guess what? You have to be going 80 to merge with them.
