Aviation Weather for Africa
hey all. just a quick question for everyone. does anyone know a good source of aviation weather for africa?
finding METARs and TAFs, even prog charts, is easy enough, but i'm having trouble tracking down the upper wind charts. i know they exist because i've seen one, but i just cant find a source for them.
thanks!

VSF,
Having done a bit of flying in Africa, I've found that weather is somtimes hard to get and even if find it, it might not be very reliable. That's if you can wake the weather guy up for a morning flight.
These are some of the sites I use:
Aviation underground is fairly good. Type the ICAO ident.
http://www.wunderground.com/Aviation/
The there's the South Afircan one that has good upper wind and prog charts. It can also pull Taf and Metars.

Hope that helps.

As a South African bush pilot now living in Canada, I can confirm that Murdock has given you some good links. Also check out:

I used to pick up a phone before a flight and the boys would give me the latest winds aloft. Enjoy and watch out for the summer Charlie Bravo`s which suck you in and spit you out the other end minus your bird
