Morrisburg fly in golf?
Being an avid golfer I thought Id see if there are any fly-in golf courses in Ontario. Found Morrisburg/Upper Canada Golf. Anyone golfed here? Good course? Is the airport still there (CNS8 I think) and info on the course/airport is appreciated
Thanks

Pretty decent course - major hazards are the water, sand and Canada goose droppings.
Field is unbelievably smooth for one with absolutely zero services save a big cable to attach your tie downs.
Bring your own tie downs.
For the wife and kids if they're not golfers, right across the road is Upper Canada Village, a period village with actors playing the parts of settlers from another era.
There are bbq pits and a not so bad beach which is maintained well.
If the village isn't interesting, at the course there is food and airconditioning.
It is a good afternoon that I would recommend, but not in late fall since you're likely to be attacked by a goose ...

Thanks Major Bed head
Im the head greenskeeper at Sunset golf down here in Sarnia....I love to go toe to toe with the geese
So the airfield is still in operation? Dont know too much about it thats all. I saw there was no services....does the parks commision maintain it then? Sounds like a good trip...having problems (as Ive posted) with doing a route for my cpl x/c. This looks like a fun trip...the golf would make it very well worth it...being right by the field. So if I bring my own tie-downs...they dont care if I park for the night? Thanks!

I grew up in Ingleside, about 5-10 minutes down the road. I've also been to that strip quite a few times. Also, there is a little strip just west of there beside the golf course at iroquois. I believe it's listed as private but, they are pretty welcoming. There is a spot for camping there as well.

A touch off topic here, but do you think a charter operation in the winter time to places like Ocean City, Maryland or other fly in golf getaways in the Carolinas during the winter months where you avid golfers cant golf here at home would be viable using an aircraft that would hold about 20 golfers. The packages would include golf, hotel, rental cars, etc .
Just wondering because a person I know which happens to be a business executive and not into avition asked me whether this might make some sense.
Any input would be appreciated.
