It's about bloody time!! He drove a great club into the ground. Pierre's a good guy - maybe he'll take the reins and bring the club back from where it has fallen.FLYING_GIZZARDS wrote:The club just recently let their unliked CFI go and now they have Pierre as the interm CFI. They will formaly post the position soon but are still considering their options.
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

He was never fair. Definitely harsh...and petty and vindictive, but never fair. Whether he was let go or left on his own, either way he's gone and the Club is only better for it.Fish wrote:You probably deserved it. There's an old saying that some people could screw up a wet dream
I've been CFI at a couple of different schools in the past, and it was lots of fun. Good people, good times, good memories.
How could you not enjoy being CFI? I know, there's some paper to push, and you've got to make sure the first aid kits in all the aircraft contain the right stuff, but ...

If by this, you mean its fallen into being basically the busiest FTU in Springbank, then okay.Babel Fish wrote: He drove a great club into the ground. Pierre's a good guy - maybe he'll take the reins and bring the club back from where it has fallen.
And...
Yeah, that didn't happen.JULIETTE wrote:I wouldn't call it a resignation, he just left before the actual words "your fired" could come out. That is why he just left mid-day with no notice at all. He knew he was getting fired and took the easy way out by just leaving.
This thread stinks like bitter instructors.

Seems to me like that is exactly what happened.... They had to ground all of their class 4 instuctors for the day because he gave no notice at all and they were without a CFI untill some fast paperwork got PB put in there. I dont know how somone could say it happened any different?JULIETTE wrote:

Well Fish, for your information I was there when he was installed as CFI and saw first hand what he did to the Club. Now I can't comment on his departure as I'm no longer there, but based on my experiences with him I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he did in fact just up and leave without notice. Despite anything he may have ever said (and to be honest with you, I trust him as far as I can throw him), all he's ever cared about is himself. He only does something if it's in his best interest.Fish wrote:Whatever. All I'm saying is that people tend to go on 5th hand information that isn't terribly accurate. A lot of people have heard a lot of things that simply aren't true.

I meant that people are getting 5th hand information on his departure. I have heard a ton of things that aren't true, including in this thread.
I get why some people don't like him. But to be fair, he treated club members and students quite well. People who took his groundschools loved him... that's a fact!
Now, I'm well aware of the problems he had with his instructors and I'm not saying that he was easy to work for (I DO know that first hand by the way), but I just don't think he is made of pure evil as so many people do. And I don't agree that he only cared about himself and you won't convince me otherwise. As for people saying he ran the club into the ground and other remarks like that... well, this spring CFC was busier than its ever been before. Extra tables and chairs had to be brought in for his last groundschool.
That's all.

That's right. I'm sure people would be willing to spend thousands on sub standard training as long as its from the biggest place on the field.
I'm not sure why its such a big deal that I don't think the former CFI is the spawn of satan.

well well
Mr. Hadley...
Well not sure what type of a CFI you were, and or what type of school you were working for. !!!!!!!!!!!!! but certinely there is alot more involved than the simple paper pushing " and the first Aid check " , etc.
I cant make judgments on something I havent seen....Fleet size, Staff, etc. but you make it sound like a CFI's job is simple fun and games""""......
You are right in some ways. It can be fun, It can be a shit storm though if you walk into it with big balls thinking you going to ride it like a bull.........
There are ups and downs, specialy in managment positions. Just like anything else...good and bad.
Anyhow what ever the reason is budy left the C.F.C I am sure there are factores that come into play that most students dont get involved with when it comes to a CFI. After all you are SUPPOSE to keep it professional. Unfortunalty flying clubs are difficult to work for, becuase they don't take, make, think, or do anything quick when it needs to be done due to the fact that its mostly ran by the board of directors......Each person taking a kick at the cat and sometimes CFI's are cought in the middle of it. so ......all that with time, will turn a nice guy, good pilot, and an experinced instructor into, whay you may call, angry, unpatient, dont care, feed up CFI.
I personaly have done the Flying club thing,
I ve also worked for colleges
I ve also worked for private companies
Out of all of them there is no right way of doing it or pleasing everyone.....There are issues with each one and you just need to know how to simplify things
Just remember there are three sides to every story.....
your's
Mine
and the truth is somewhere in the middle
Unless you ve covered all angles and truly understand what drives someone to be who they persive themselfs to be then, keep it simple and watch what you say and when you say it........... I ve seen it too many times that it has come back to bite them in the ass in the future
Just friendly advise........
fly safe , and dont bullshit
cheers
