Penta Aviation
Hey All...
Wondering if anyone out there has any input regarding Penta in Vancouver.... what's the work like, conditions, pay.... is it a good place for an apprentice to finish off a log book?
Thanks

..finish off your logbook??
Uhm, wrong place. They are a corporate jet service centre. Unless your logbook already includes a couple or three years of biz-jet(Citation/lear/Hawker/Falcon etc..) experience,
I believe your chances aren't that great. I don't want to discourage you from trying. That being said, if you do manage to get on expect excellent work conditions(hangar/tools/processes etc..) and ethics(no fudging on limits or snags, mostly!) although they have a rep. of being notoriously clique-y.
Pay is slightly below industry avg. which in Van. translates to poverty wages. Oh and unless you have seniority or are related or "golden", layoffs are regular. when you do work, the contracts are balls out OT affairs that test your endurance (six weeks straight 7 days a week 14 hour days anyone?, not and exageration).
All in all, Penta is inferior to the old Atlantic/Innotech from whence they came but light years ahead of all the other YVR south side riff-raf.

You do Mean Monkey Mountain Aircraft dont you!!!!!
For a place like that you have to take in a certain amount of skill to know the diference bettween right and wrong. Changing Data plates Wrong, Building a Twotter from the ground up many times over right!!! But then move ahead dont stay to long as this is one place where you do get a "type cast" from.
