education for Air Canada

Post by horizon »

I was wondering if someone with a high school education had a chance at Air Canada?

Why not? Your attitude is the most important criteria although a degree definitely would improve your chances..

I havent heard of anyone with a high school diploma get in as of yet. Unless your dad works there. Personally i think you should have some sort of college or university. We are not in the 1970's education is important these days. Education could help you even if the flying career fails.

i only have high school, and i got it at age 21.. look into some kind of integrated program in aviation. You can find these at any aviation colleges, regardless if its subsdized or private colleges. The reason airlines want you to have college/uni degree is bcuz they want to make sure you are suitable to fit into their course cirriculum when they spend all their time and money to train you. If you graduate from one of these programs, it is proof that you went through an intensive training and you are capable of handling their course. I am doing this becuase if i was to do a 4 year degree right now, i will be 27/28 and i dont want to waste 4 more years.... Good luck with whatever you do. :D

as everybody says, i think eitherway you go, a degree is a benefit to get you into the doors of an interivew, and then after that you're a potential candidate, so it's about how you demonstrate.

Education, is important, I am not saying that it reflects your intelligence.
but, being a captain/ pilot with Air Canada in our days, it is not about your flying abilities anymore, because at that stage everyone can fly.
Flying with AC, is more a managing role, and mostly about making decisions.
So you will find, more and more demand for education.

Degree?

Baby steps first.

Judging by most of the posts on AvCanada a course in Remedial English is more urgent.

Telly,

Proud grade 7 graduate.

Hey B-777, if you ever fly a triple seven, it better have nice pictures for you to follow because if you have to type in any commands it will be a snafu for sure!!!

Maybe a Mickey Mouse windup clock is more your speed.

Thanks again for the PM dumbass. ROFLMFAO!!!

LOL I just realised you went back and edited your hillbilly post. LOL Good job. Did you correct it yourself or did you get someone to do it for you? MUHAHHAHAH!!! Moron!

LOL b-777, if I wanted a joke from you I would get you to pull your pants down. As for getting mad, I haven't gotten mad yet. In case you have forgotten, you sent me the nasty gram after I made fun of the fact that you were giving advice on education while making spelling errors out the wazzoo. You do see the irony in that don't you?

Don't take everything so serious on here. Sounds like you need to get laid or have an enema or something. Knowing you, they are probably very simliar experience!!!!

Can't wait for your next comment. The last one and your PM were around the grade 2 level. Maybe by next year you will have one that is equivalent to a highschool grade9 puke that moved up from knock knock jokes to Johnny jokes.

Dumbass!!!

Man, I read these posts, and it makes me sad, just really sad. My faith in our species seems all but lost. Luckily I have an 8 year old daughter who restores that faith daily!

To bad they don't teach "class" in University...

No doubt.

I hope that when I finally make it to the big red, there will predominantly be a higher level of professionalism amongst my peers than what I often see represented in many of these posts.

University may not guarantee "class" but it usually leads to better interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Go figure.
