Went down yesterday in the forest north of the La Macaza penitentiary. The pilot was the only one onboard and did not survive.

I could only find a link to the news on a French laguage newspaper site:

Ottawa pilot, 78, dies in airplane crash

A 78-year-old Ottawa man died Monday when his small airplane crashed into a cornfield near Bouchette, Que., according to the provincial police.

John Nixon was alone in the two-passenger airplane when it crashed.

A police spokesperson said Nixon took off from Quebec City around 2:30 p.m. local time and crashed nearly two hours later in this community near Maniwaki, a town 145 kilometres north of Ottawa.

Federal transportation officials are working with police to determine the cause of the crash.
