Are pilots really this dumb?

Post by Cat Driver »

How come if you have a Cessna 172 with retractable gear and a constant speed prop a simple basic airplane suddenly becomes a ... "" Complex Aircraft "" ??

Why does the industry allow these paper pushers to insult you with such nonesense?

Or is it a prerequisite for pilots to be that comprehension challenged?

There that is my rant for today. :dumbbig:

All the energy you put into proving Transport Canada had some bad apples...can you redirect that energy now to ALL insurance companies???

I will support you if you take up arms against these thugs.

Is this really eating at you? I mean...who cares, Cat. You've had an amazing career, did some interesting things, have a great wife, seen the world many times over, led an incredible life and have a whole lot to show for it. Who really gives a shit about the classification of the Cessna 172RG, can you fix it? NO. Why waste any energy on this? It's a bit of a downer to think that an accomplished man of your talents is still focused on this crap that will NEVER change. Transport this and transport that, no one has any power to change anything for the better without mucking things up further.

Go have a nice time on your sailboat, dabble in airplanes if you feel up to it, but brother, let the transport stuff go. I feel like they win little victories everytime I see they still can get under your skin like this. Sure, maybe we're all a little more aware of the daily boning we take up the poop-slide, but I don't see any progress in it.

And to the rest of you, @#$! transport, @#$! airplanes, and @#$! numbers in your logbook. As long as some nice people show up at my funeral, I'll be pleased. And if it was aviation that brought me these people and some nice sights at the same time, so be it. I throw in the towel with the rest of the associated shananigans.

" All the energy you put into proving Transport Canada had some bad apples...can you redirect that energy now to ALL insurance companies??? "

If you are gonna make an intelligent reply Birddog at least slow down long enough to get it right.....

" Had " is way off the mark.

" Have " is correct.... :smilebig:

Now with regard to your request that I take up arms against insurance companies why would I want to attack my own means of earning money?

Insurance policies are put in place by undrewriters and they set rates based on risk.

Wouldn't it be better for you to join me and get the rates lowered by offering approved training courses to get lower rates?

Your friend...

Please don't get mad at me and take my Avitar back... :lovebig:

Hey....Hey...

Guys....

Take it easy... My rant was made in jest, just using that example of how dumbed down things are getting...

..And you guys should expand your horizons....these classificatons or descriptions are world wide, your TC is just a small cog in the wheel...

So lighten up guys..this rant is tounge in cheek.

And Desks....yup, Iv'e sort of retired and dont give a sweet fu.k what the industry does.

Isn't the "complex aircraft" thing an FAA doohicky... or has TC started in along those lines now too?

altiplano, yes, and most of the rest of the world has the same mindset.

These guys are like a secret handshake club and mimic each other all over the world.

At least in Canada you don't need a tail wheel endorsement yet...

...maybe because so few instructors know how to out think one? :smilebig:

There that should really make me popular today... :smilebig:

I think so Trey.. :thinkingbig:

How else do you account for the fact that everyone goes along with these transparent deceptions....

..... But the schools will never stand up and clear the air....hell no they sell more time this way, make it look difficult and over time it becomes a fact..... its generational mind control.

“ How come if you have a Cessna 172 with retractable gear and a constant speed prop a simple basic airplane suddenly becomes a ... "" Complex Aircraft "" ?? “

It’s obvious ., for “safety” reason... It takes a lot of skills, training and knowledge to safely select gear up and gear down.

Hey man, why don’t we get proactive here... For safety reason, we should urge TC to revise the present reg’s:

- Lets put a special qualification to fly variable pitch

- A university degree to fly a de-iced aircraft

- And an engineering doctorate to operate pressurized aircraft

Like they always tell us, TC is on our side, they’re not there to get us, but to help us become safer and “more efficient”...

Have to agree with the education idea.
Let's face it, anyone with a PhD in gear extension should be able to demand a higher salary automatically.
Maybe we could copy the Americans a little closer and give out medals for every little accomplishment.
Just think, a TC ramp guy would know by the fruit salad on your breast exactly what you are qualified to do without asking.

One medal could be qualification to conduct flight tests and carry a marker pen. The security people could have a list to cover this and not confriscate (oops, typo, but I now like the word....) it at the gate.

Which reminds me, there is a tall skinny Brit security guy at Heathrow who just loves to keep his hands too long on your buttocks after the wand goes off. (Just thought some of you out there may like to know.)
