freak,

nice handle ;-)

When did you do your cog test and medical? kingbaida, the same question also goes out to you? I'm asking because I have heard that it takes a bit of time for the results of the psych exam to come back (close to a month). I'm guessing kingbaida you did your interview sometime at the beginning of September?

Look forward to hearing from both of you.

As they say... take 'er easy... if she's real easy... take 'er twice!

kingbaida and freak,

I did my interview on the 3rd of October, with my psych and medical on the 4th. No word yet either.

kingbaida, how late in September? After the 25th? I'm asking just to get an idea about how long the psych results usually take to come back. Any idea.

Thanks gents.

Happy Landings.

freak,

I know the feeling... it's funny... earlier this year I was doing my medical for JAZZ at the Alta-Vista building. There was this really nice nurse who was doing my medical, and we got into talking about how long I've waited to get to this point. She asked if I'd be interested in joining AC. I told her that's what I really wanted to do, but had been waiting for the last 6 years without any sort of response from the company. She said something that I'm going to use and remember for the rest of my life... she said "All good things come, when the time is right".

Hang in there freak. If I get any other information I'll pass it along.

Best of luck.

It's a tough wait isn't it? I did my interview in mid-August and cog/psych tests mid September. Still waiting. The good thing is, I'm past the stage of jumping to look at the call display every time the phone rings. However, my butt still puckers when I check the mailbox.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the Christmas present of a lifetime.

As fare as I know, Mailbox is bad news... if you get a call, it should be within 2 month after you finished all test.

Interviewed mid July and still waiting and praying. I don't know if it's good or bad the longer the wait. I guess only time will tell.

Anybody get the job offer via snail mail? Does anyone know if it makes a difference on how fast they process your interview/cog/psych depending on where you did it?

Hello Motto... reminds me of the ring-tone on my cellphone ;-)

From what I understand you need a complete file before you can get assessed by the hiring committee. The longer it takes to get your cog/psych and medical test results back, the longer the wait before you get the thumbs UP/down.

I’m actually really curious about what the average wait times to get your cog/psych results is… can anyone shed some light?

Cheers.

Hey PD, I went through the process just as the psych tests were being introduced and if memory serves, it took a week from doing the test to getting the call. This may vary. By the way you will not get an offer in the mail. If successful, you will be called, if not....the dreaded letter. Good luck!!

I agree with Joeblogg and PD2 !
It took me just over 2 weeks to get the call from AC !
I read a lot of rumours on this forum about everything you need, and should be ! Ok I think it's time for clarification . Sure a bachelor's degree helps, internal references and all that, but guess what ! I did not have any of those ! I believe they're looking for true and genuine people, good interview, experience, and cog test. It makes me laugh, when I see " you should answer yes to the florist question, and no to this....
My word of advice !, BE YOURSELF, and that's what they want to see. I did not bullshit on any of those questions, and it worked for me.....
Don't you think they would prefer to hire someone true and honest !
Think twice ! Good luck to all of you......

kingbaida,

You're right... I don't think there is a particular recipe for getting hired at Air Canada. I think it has more to do with the entire package. It’s good to speculate though… because it helps the time go by! ;-)

I’ve got a long story… and if I make it back to Canada… I’m buying the whole lot of you a first round of Rickards. It would be nice to meet everyone in person. Would Arizona's Bar & Grill work?

Good luck gents.
