For such an odd incident, that is quite the vague story. You'd think this would be more public by now.
Reminds me of the video of the guy down in the States in the Cessna. He had a forced landing on a major road, fixed the problem in a nearby parking lot, and went to takeoff again on the same road (with clearance from authorities). But he didn't wait for all the emergency vehicles to clear the road first. He clipped a transport truck mirror and careened into an ambulance/fire truck (can't remember which).
If anyone has the link, its definitely worth watching.

i think if you listen the reporter mentions " hits the truck that brought him the fuel". sounds like the guy ran out of fuel and had to try that forced landing you practice so often.isn't it "illegal" to land on roads now?
My ambition is to live forever - so far, so good!
Well, having grown up in the prairies, if he wasn't hit by a plane he'd have been one of the many people of a rural background who get hit by a train at a level crossing. The f&*^ing thing is 3/4 of a mile long, did you not see it? Do we need a federally approved and subsidized study to find out what color the plane should have been if it was to stand out more, and thus be more safe to land on a road?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message.

Small airplane's propeller hits Manitoba man on highway
Last Updated: Monday, November 13, 2006 | 4:08 PM CT
CBC News
A Manitoba man is recovering from several surgeries after being struck by the propeller of a small taxiing airplane on Sunday.
A Cessna 150 was moving across a Highway 216 at Kleefeld, about 45 kilometres southeast of Winnipeg, when the propeller struck Ken Zacharias, who was one of two people who helped the pilot by stopping traffic on the road in order to allow the plane to cross the highway and head toward a hanger.
Zacharias, who suffered a dislocated shoulder and cuts to the side of his body, was involved in aid missions with Kleefeld Evangelical Mennonite Church, where the plane had been on display.
He ran in front of the plane in an attempt to reach his vehicle so he could move it out of the way, said pastor Darryl Klassen.
"It's just one of those things that happens. Accidents happen, and that's part of life. We make good judgments or errors in all kinds of ways, and this is one of those things that happened."
Klassen says Zacharias has had a number of surgeries.
"But the prognosis was quite good as far as what the doctors had said, and they're looking forward to a good recovery."
His congregation will give the Zacharias family any help it needs, he added.
