Buffalo

Post by hellholeflyer »

Hey all,

Anybody have any ideas what the wait time on the ramp is at Buffalo these days?

I'm in the same old story of having finished my MIFR and planning the road trip.

Thanks :D

j/k but I did hear that there are people waiting years...not sure how credible that info is though (heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy)

All I can say is that if your offered a job with buffalo take it, if you don't like it at least your up there and you can meet people with the other companies like tindi and sunwest and move onto them. Just my two cents worth.

i heard they say 6 months to a year..but most guys get on closer to 2 years. i also heard once you've just about had it with them, they'll tease you with a ride in the dc3 to keep you motivated. this was all heard from a friend of a friend so it could be bullshit.

cheers

Your name says it all, obliviously you have never worked there because if you have you would not give that advise. If you work for joe and your a pilot your gonna wait for about 6 months to a year. and during that time you are gonna work 6 days a week 12-14 hours a day for about $1500 a month and all you will be doing is cargo boy or food mail. and when you do get a sniff of a DC-3 you will spend a year in Hay River as joes co pilot. and if you last that long you might get the privlage of a DC-4. If you go this route you will know what it is like to be worked for a chance to be a glorious pilot. But all that been said it seems most of the pilots that do there time alwys end up at ken borak.

Working For Buffalo

Post by ClevelandSteamer »

If you choose to work for Buffalo expect to get fired here and there by the owner who will looose it on your for somebody elses mistake. It doesnt actually mena your fired, but to get outta joes site for a few hours. I knew a guy that got "sent on the bus packing" cause he didnt know what a Pallet Box was...Now...do you want to work for a guy like that? In the winter AM Flightwatch can be a bitch, and you know if you want to get on their faster then any of the other pilots, your also gonna be there till 6 pm. Everyday.

There are a few people jsut waiting there to get checked out, then have been there over two years and joe doesnt evne get their name right. Its cause they dont put in that exra bit of work...which really is alot of work. Somepeople will get checked out in 8 monhts, and some will in three years, its all on how hard ya work there...I Know!

Go on with a company that will operate light twins, or smaller single engines, if you wish to fly right way. Go to Buffalo if you want to work for peanutz and then go to Harleys On Tuesdays Nights to check out the new Ass.

DONE!
