Porter increases flights from Island to Montreal
January 08, 2007 . Canadian Press
Porter Airlines has increased its service between Toronto and Montreal to nine round-trips each weekday.
Saturday's schedule includes two round-trips, plus four on Sundays.
The airline, which operates out of Toronto's island airport, began service to and from Montreal on Dec.11 with four weekday return flights.
Porter took flight on Oct. 23 with 10 weekday round-trips between Toronto and Ottawa.
The airline said it would increase its Montreal service once it secured delivery of a fourth 70-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
Porter Airlines eventually plans to fly to as many as 17 short-haul Canadian and U.S. destinations.

Given the targe clientele of Porter, I can assure you, the hatches are being battened down a little more in La Belle Province.
Porter is losing money every day. The more they expand, the more they lose. In the meantime, it will have a mild impact on its principle competitor on that route.

I guess Blastor should have posted the rest of the article where Deluce stated that they are on par for a profit in their first year. But that couldn't be possible ONLY WestJet could do that right? Flew on them last week to YUL had 54 other people sitting with me not a bad load if you ask me. Great service by the way. F/A's were HOT!!!
The longer WJ is around the more you guys sound like AC. How soon we forget what it was like to be a start up. We'll see how it works out. Seems to be beating the odds so far. Best of luck to all those there.

Not sure if this is accurate... I thought they would be doing well. Anyone in the know have a comment?Realitychex wrote: Porter is losing money every day. The more they expand, the more they lose. In the meantime, it will have a mild impact on its principle competitor on that route.

Go Porter...they are in a league of their own. FA's are hot and they seem to actually give a shit too. Thank Deluce for putting a class act back in the skies of North America. In my opinion, I think any business traveller would be hard pressed to find a level of service that equals that of Porter's.
