Whats even sadder is that they're throwing "airbus" around. Run away as fast as you can. It's just more BS. They're starting to believe their own lies.

I'd agree with you except that ALPA is still going strong at CJ. We didn't go back to year 1 for salaries. It probably would have if it wasnt for ALPA. We'll also more than likely get everything else back once it goes to arbitration in the summer.
Oh my God am I sounding optimistic!!!!....Not a chance. I doubt there'll be many left by then anyway.

good to see the topic heating up again.im pretty sure they are above numuro 70 on the call back list.and i am curious how many stayed around above that as they were pretty sure they were never getting back to work at cj.so should be interesting.anybody getting ready to pull a miami one??

I believe they are in fact at number 70 with only 10 left. Slim pickings since they're saying 11 a/c in the fall. (please try not to laugh) Maybe they've seen that cartoon where monkeys fly and they think it real!!!

A saving grace C6 has is that it would still be very popular amongst the travelling public if it went back into the domestic market CanJet bowed out of the domestic market with class, or so the public percieves it anyway.

IF this really was just an attempt to union bust, then maybe KR is planning on returning to the domestic market.

With regards to pilots, whether or not KR shuts C6 down because of a pilot shortage, he'll just start another airline later, C6 was not his first attempt and if it folds it won't be his last.

There may be a pilot shortage now, but it won't be like that for the rest of time, especially if he can offer the right incentives, although from the way you guys are talking in order to get you to stay he'd have to offer one helluva package.

Desperate times KR, maybe you should offer 20K signing bonuses to retain those pilots that may still be interested in putting up with your crap. You offered 10K to D.E.C's back in the spring. 20K isn't unreasonable to offer a pilot to risk his career on your bullshit work conditions. Especially when there has never been a better time to position yourself careerwise elsewhere.

Wooden Spoon: I expect the reason this thread has been so quiet is because everyone has been busy looking for a better place to work!

Better yet, we'll get Kenny to sign an employment bond. He pays us $30,000 to work for him. We pay back 500 bucks every month we stay. If we decide to leave before then, oh well, f*ck him. :lol:

I heard that the company has informed ALPA they want a contract in 4 months..another tactic and ploy. Empty promises I expect.

I think management has figured out that if they keep quiet, like last summer, everyone will know the jig is up. Best to keep everyone on their toes with new rumors and hopes of everything going forward. The idea being most people will hope for the best and not be leaving for new jobs or return if called back. They have to keep it running until May. When the current contract obligations are done, and they are eight months closer to the end dates on aircraft leases they can shut it down. If summer flying contracts are not signed soon and leases are not extended on certain aircraft in the very near future it will be obvious what they are up to.

We have been told that the leases have been extended 20 months and that they want a contract in 4 months. Take it for what it's worth. It will still be the most unstable airline to work for. If you like looking over your shoulder, or you like waiting for that hammer to fall then CJ is the place for you.
Just imagine if CJ did last till you retired. you could sit in your rocker in your trailer, gumming your Kraft dinner. You could wonder why all the other retired pilots, from those other airlines, seem to have more money and teeth than you.

sorry about the triple post back there. Aren't CJ by saying that they want a contract in four months just telling everyone that it will all be over by then? @#$!, I never would thought it was going to last that long. :smt102

Sounds like corporate is trying to figure out the cost structure to negotiate a new contract with Transat, Sunquest etc....
Doesn't assure any security at CJ by any stretch, but sounds a little positive.

maybe the tour operators have told canjet(imp)to get the potential labor issues straightened out before they commit to doing business with them.Or as before last fall,negotiate to keep the employee group happy that things are moving forward.(sound familliar)this stops some of the bleeding of employees ontil they decide what to do.not much severance this time.

I'm counting on head office watching this thread. one of the major problems is that not everything gets to the top. There's a hell of a lot intercepted, edited and kept away. It's sad but it is a method of making sure it gets to the top.

I still find it hard to believe that a 70 year old multi milionaire reads this thread. Because that would suggest that he is a little slow. He could make this thing work if he spent a little money to hire someone to run the flight ops department, as well as other areas of the airline. If you want it to work its time to clean house. The fish rots from the head down.

Unless there was no one out there with lift for sale, why would these outfits deal with a company being run as CJ currently is, and with airplanes not suited at all for operations to the south from the east coast?(IE:no HF's)
