Genesis #01 Ch. 1:1 Intro. - Universal Beginnings by . Missler
Genesis 1:1 mp3 dwnld

About .
. demonstrated an aptitude for technical interests as a youth. He became a ham radio operator at age nine and started piloting airplanes as a teenager. While still in high school, . built a digital computer in the family garage.

His plans to pursue a doctorate in electrical engineering at Stanford University were interrupted when he received a Congressional appointment to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. Graduating with honors, . took his commission in the Air Force. After completing flight training, he met and married Nancy. . joined the Missile Program and eventually became Branch Chief of the Department of Guided Missiles.

. made the transition from the military to the private sector when he became a systems engineer with TRW, a large aerospace firm. He then went on to serve as a senior analyst with a non-profit think tank where he conducted projects for the intelligence community and the Department of Defense. During that time, . earned a master's degree in engineering at UCLA, supplementing previous graduate work in applied mathematics, advanced statistics and information sciences.

Recruited into senior management at the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, . established the first international computer network in 1966. He left Ford to start his own company, a computer network firm that was subsequently acquired by Automatic Data Processing (listed on the New York Stock Exchange) to become its Network Services Division.

Returning to California, . found himself consulting, organizing corporate development deals, serving on the board of directors at several firms, and specializing in the rescuing of financially troubled technology companies. He brought several companies out of Chapter 11 and into profitable operation. . thrived on this type of work.

As . notes, his day of reckoning came several years ago when -- as the result of a merger -- he found himself the chairman and a major shareholder of a small, publicly owned development company known as Phoenix Group International. The firm established an $8 billion joint venture with the Soviet Union to supply personal computers to their 143,000 schools. Due to several unforeseen circumstances, the venture failed. The Misslers lost everything, including their home, automobiles and insurance.

It was during this difficult time that . turned to God and the Bible. As a child he developed an intense interest in the Bible; studying it became a favorite pastime. In the 1970s, while still in the corporate world, . began leading weekly Bible studies at the 30,000-member Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, in California. He and Nancy established Koinonia House in 1973. ...snip

I deliver freight. Mostly it's just big boxes but at times there are envelopes... It's not so much pushing them as just picking them up.

Does that count?

CC, you really are boring most of to death. I suppose a proper response would be to not read your postings. In fact, that's exactly what I'll do.

I object to anyone trying to shove their religion down my throat, like the people who come to my door or those who try to hand me the Watchtower in the street. But you know, I am always polite, unless I'm harassed and it seems like I'm being harassed now.

So please take your religious claptrap to another site where you are more likely to find like-minded people, and the rest of us can continue with some semblance of aviation.

The root of the problem

Post by Concestor 0 »

Cloudcounter's strong convictions to irrational ideas demonstrates very strongly how the human thought process can be highjacked by the human belief process.
Remember Pilot Decision Making (PDM) training? This training is centered around the knowledge that what pilots think and do is highly influenced by environmental and psychological influences. In other words, what we accept as true and therefore how we act can be quite variable. The information given to us is edited and revised to support an assumption, belief or desire.
Most of the time people are totally unaware of this process and assume they have made a rational decision.
There is a tremendiously strong motivation to believe in an afterlife and virtually no motivation to believe evolution. So which belief is more popoluar and easier to sell?
In aviation stong decision making skills are a vital element in the safety chain. We have to train our brains to make accurate assessments of any given situation. Or we could just let "God" decide.

Well, if you're gonna continue posting this drivel, I'm gonna keep making fun of you. Here's something that'll be right up your alley.

The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Open Letter To Kansas School Board

I am writing you with much concern after having read of your hearing to decide whether the alternative theory of Intelligent Design should be taught along with the theory of Evolution. I think we can all agree that it is important for students to hear multiple viewpoints so they can choose for themselves the theory that makes the most sense to them. I am concerned, however, that students will only hear one theory of Intelligent Design.

Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. It was He who created all that we see and all that we feel. We feel strongly that the overwhelming scientific evidence pointing towards evolutionary processes is nothing but a coincidence, put in place by Him.

It is for this reason that I’m writing you today, to formally request that this alternative theory be taught in your schools, along with the other two theories. In fact, I will go so far as to say, if you do not agree to do this, we will be forced to proceed with legal action. I’m sure you see where we are coming from. If the Intelligent Design theory is not based on faith, but instead another scientific theory, as is claimed, then you must also allow our theory to be taught, as it is also based on science, not on faith.

Some find that hard to believe, so it may be helpful to tell you a little more about our beliefs. We have evidence that a Flying Spaghetti Monster created the universe. None of us, of course, were around to see it, but we have written accounts of it. We have several lengthy volumes explaining all details of His power. Also, you may be surprised to hear that there are over 10 million of us, and growing. We tend to be very secretive, as many people claim our beliefs are not substantiated by observable evidence. What these people don’t understand is that He built the world to make us think the earth is older than it really is. For example, a scientist may perform a carbon-dating process on an artifact. He finds that approximately 75% of the Carbon-14 has decayed by electron emission to Nitrogen-14, and infers that this artifact is approximately 10,000 years old, as the half-life of Carbon-14 appears to be 5,730 years. But what our scientist does not realize is that every time he makes a measurement, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is there changing the results with His Noodly Appendage. We have numerous texts that describe in detail how this can be possible and the reasons why He does this. He is of course invisible and can pass through normal matter with ease.

I’m sure you now realize how important it is that your students are taught this alternate theory. It is absolutely imperative that they realize that observable evidence is at the discretion of a Flying Spaghetti Monster. Furthermore, it is disrespectful to teach our beliefs without wearing His chosen outfit, which of course is full pirate regalia. I cannot stress the importance of this enough, and unfortunately cannot describe in detail why this must be done as I fear this letter is already becoming too long. The concise explanation is that He becomes angry if we don’t.

You may be interested to know that global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters are a direct effect of the shrinking numbers of Pirates since the 1800s. For your interest, I have included a graph of the approximate number of pirates versus the average global temperature over the last 200 years. As you can see, there is a statistically significant inverse relationship between pirates and global temperature.

In conclusion, thank you for taking the time to hear our views and beliefs. I hope I was able to convey the importance of teaching this theory to your students. We will of course be able to train the teachers in this alternate theory. I am eagerly awaiting your response, and hope dearly that no legal action will need to be taken. I think we can all look forward to the time when these three theories are given equal time in our science classrooms across the country, and eventually the world; One third time for Intelligent Design, one third time for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, and one third time for logical conjecture based on overwhelming observable evidence.

Sincerely Yours,

Bobby Henderson, concerned citizen.

P.S. I have included an artistic drawing of Him creating a mountain, trees, and a midget. Remember, we are all His creatures.

(couldn't post the graph or picture of said spaghetti monster, you'll have to use your imagination.)

Now back to your regularly scheduled cloudcounter sermon.

Thank You Short Bus!

That's it! That's what has been missing from the equation - the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It all makes sense to me now. I once again believe!
...after all, that makes far more sense than the BS crap that cloudcounter has been posting.

But seriously:
CC: perhaps you're dense as a brick, which is why you're not 'getting' the message .... GO AWAY! We don't want you here.

If you were selling your religion at my door, I would politely say that "I'm not interested, thanks." (as I tend to do when they come around). If you continued, I would shut the door on you. But here, we don't have that option - you just keep droning on. So here are your options:
1. Stay on the forum, but to only to talk about aviation related things - and shut the hell up about religion; or
2. Go away, and never come back.

I believe that either option would suit (the majority of) the rest of us just fine.

neilblythin. And just what stats do you use to assertain that you are in the majority. Not just your beliefs, but hard core facts. That is of course what we are talking about here right. After reading some of these posts I to am starting to believe in evolution. Some of you are closer to Monkeys than you realize.

I do not use statistics to ascertain that I am in the majority ... I use common sense. This is an aviation forum. Common sense would indicate that the vast majority of the forum's members joined in order to discuss aviation, and aviation-related topics. Last time I checked, this was not a religious debate forum.

Also, reading the various threads that cloudcounter has posted in, I notice a trend: Most of the replies are arguing against him/his views, are making fun of him, or are telling him to get bent. Also, he is continually hijacking serious threads, with his religious ramblings - completely out of context with the topic being discussed.

But here you go flaps40 (and cloudcounter), if you feel so strongly on these topics and want to continue debating them on Avcanada - why don't you come on over to the "Known Users" forum? Put your money where your mouth is and spout off about this without hiding behind a veil of anonymity? That way, we will actually know who it is that's posting this stuff.
