there is a major event about every 600 years I seem to recall and it is about 300 years overdue

Cloud Counter, I was under the impression that your religious affiliations are somehow related to following Jesus, is that not correct? Far be it from me to tell you how to practice your religion or tell you how to think, but I clearly recall understanding that THE basis behind Christianity was to love thy neighbor. I question what religious /social/ political affiliations you follow that generates so much hate in your heart.
Then again this is coming from someone raised Roman Catholic turned Buddhist so I may well be full of shit.

If man had not heated the oceans through the burning of fossil fuels, thus making the weight of the water less dense, then the plates wouldn't be tempted to rise and cause the quake.

Or maybe it was the wind storms caused by global warming. The wind storms knocked the trees down, the trees were carted away, thus making the ground above lighter, and thus the plates lifted and shifted.

Or maybe it was the change in the speed of the current through the Juan de Fuca straight (also caused by man-made global warming) that caused this to happen?

W squared, I am really tired of the all the stuff this guy posts..............Mrs Cloudy, can you prove me without quoting any of the books, that the words of the Bible/Tora/Coran and whatever are true? you can barely build a case for the existence of a supernatural force we call GOD, given the complexity of Nature and the living creatures. If you want to find out the consequences of a 'major geological event' on the West Coast, see if you can find the first excerpt from Jack Granatstein's new book "Whose War Is It?" that appeared in the National Post last week. It makes for pretty scary reading.
