I had the opportunity to fly a Loving's Love when I was young. The thing was kinda hot for my low time but I brouhgt her back all in one piece, not once but twice. I must have push the luck.
It was a Love story which started at the age of 12, sitting in the prototype cockpit in construction. I still smell the spruce and plywood.
Stayed in touch with Neal Loving for a few years, until he passed away peacefully, leaving us a heck of an aeronautical and human heritage.
Just like a dream...

Flying an aircraft and building a guitar are two things that are easy to do bad and difficult to do right
My second cousin's J-3. Held a death grip on the stick while sitting in the back seat. Couldn't shake the feeling that if I moved it the plane would lay over on its side and fall out of the sky.
First flight was a CP or Pacific Western 737 YWG-YYZ (I think).
First Solo was C172 C-GTQL at YQF 1993.
First Solo into the bush PA32-300 C-FAJD YAV-PV7-YTL. Missed in PV7; had no idea what I was doing.
Flyinhigh: I think it was C-GUZW that you soloed in; I was the one who recommended you.
Hei Swede, you must be really old. I retired two years ago. I got my licences at Chinook when they were based at Calgary International and instructed for a few years for them when they moved to Springbank.
I remember VHM-didn`t it end up on its back at the Banff airstrip?
The first plane I flew was C172 GVKH out of YBW, I also did my first solo in this plane, ALSO, my dad flew this plane when it was brand new back in '79, he was doing his private in YPE. The first plane I flew commercially was DHC-6 GFYN, and the first plane I was checked out on was BE20 GBYN.

First Solo C-FUWO
Hey C-GPFG and Barrlow Beech Boy I own C-GYCX now
Cool! Been 17 years since I did my first solo in it. It's in my book as a 150, but I remember it having a notched flap selector which I've never seen on any other 150.
I think the first plane I ever flew was a Beaver. And then I moved on to a C-130 Hercules. But I was only 4 yrs old, so I couldn't log the time..... Damn!
C172 GEKL at Shearwater Flight Centre in Summer of 2001
A heart surgeon later wheelbarrowed and flipped the a/c in the winter of 2002. I think she was restored and flying now.
Never forget the first hands on.
