The flight bag, here it goes...

Toilet Kit
Passport
Fruit Bars
Headlamp
Leatherman
Deck of Cards
Ipod
Calculator
Pens/Pencils
Digi Cam
NavCan Wx brochure
Spoon
Day Planner

The deck of cards is thing I started doing after a overnight winter survival trip, boardem is one of the first things that gets to you and makes you do stupid things, so playing some Holdem or something with your crew will make the time go by and maybe keep you sain if you end up spending the night in the trees somewhere...

LED HEADLAMP

Post by Beacon Final »

I have all the usual stuff. But noone listed this item.

A LED HEADLAMP. Has 3 brightness settings and a flashing setting which could come in handy for SAR situations. If you lose your ALTN, cockpit lighting etc, and need light, why fart around with a dirty flashlight in your mouth. Strap on the headlamp and away you go.... handsfree to fly.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

  • My Sennheiser HMEC 25 headset
    Rechargeable batteries for said headset
My digital camera (Canon PowerShot G2, five years old and still a great cam)
    Licenses, medical and such
    Sunglasses
    Antihistamines in the summer time
    flashlight
    Deck of cards
Random paperwork that I should probably just through out.
I was going to stick a mickey of Bacardi in there just in case we were to get stranded somewhere, but whenever I buy one, it never makes it past the kitchen counter.

Most of the above stuff plus:

Spare igniter plug (not likely to need it like glowplugs but old habits die slowly)
Electrical tape
Lots of flashlights
Lots of 9V batts for noise cancelling headset
Spare gel ear seal
Danish Kroners

Cheers,

ETTW

Is Cat the only smart one to carry condoms? Don't believe her if she says she's on the pill. Trust me.

I guess experience counts!

As for the leatherman, those that routinely go through airport security, do they hassle you?

And the headlamp, great idea for electrical failures, but do you guys you it on a regular basis as well.

I noticed alot of you have porn and IPODs. To kill 2 birds with one stone, I have 60 gigs of porn on my ipod

It was only a silly observation that few people actually mentioned their licence, which is the only thing they are really required to carry. Of course you carry your licence. It wasn't meant to get a reaction from anyone, but since you chose to call me a name deriding my intelligence you should at least check your spelling first.

Yeah my headlamp stunt doubles as my flashlight, it actually comes in really handy on a walkaround at night, makes checking the oil when its windy simple instead of hand and mouth acrobatics with a maglight.
