pets at flying clubs
i flew into CYSN (st catherines) today... why are there cats dogs everywhere?? all the fibre is stuck on my pants and isnt coming off..

I used to own a Cherokee 160. One day taxing to hanger and this dog come running out of the flying club club house thinking he is going catch the different looking car.
I pulled the mixture as it dissappeared under the cowl. All I could think of is if the dogs gets hit is it a bad enough to have to get the engine/prop torn down.
Fortunatly the dog was 14 inches high and prop clearance was 16 inches (or so).
All this time, daddy and his little suzy were watching rover. Sure glad she didn't see what would have have happened if rover was 17 inches tall.

Dogs can hear the bombers returning before humans can. Don't you watch old war movies?

Ya it is a strange situation...what other business environment allows dogs to run around and shit under desks and stuff.
On the other hand there is something to be said for having an airport mascot. I approve of having animals around, brightens my day. As long as I dont clean up the aforementioned shit

From the looks of things they are turning the airport into a petting zoo and automotive test track. Everytime I go in there are either coyotes or cars on the runway.

NB: when some dog or kid takes a run at your propeller, don't pull the mixture, turn the mags off.

I am quite sure that most people have no idea that they are contravening the CARs by allowing their pets to run loose at an airport.302.10 No person shall
(i) allow a bird or other animal that is owned by the person or that is in the person's custody or control to be unrestrained within the boundaries of an airport, except for the purpose of controlling other birds or animals at the airport as permitted by the operator

Im quite sure nobody cares. This kind of thing happens at smaller airports where TC is unlikely to be poking around.Hedley wrote:
