Jazz 2 AC
So I just interviewed with Jazz, say I get hired. How do I apply for an AC interview down the road? Is it automatic? Do I apply online like everyone else and just click the appropriate box?
Also, is there actually an aggreement for an interview in a particular order or are you no different that anybody off the street?

Wow, not even hired yet and you're already planning your exit strategy...why even bother applying if you don't really want to work there?

You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
Are you kidding? That's why everybody applied there. Okay, I'm sure there are a few exceptions. But look at what's happening. Guarenteed AC interview, Westjet loves ex-Jazz pilots (appearently because most of the people in charge of hiring are ex-Air BC, CRA) and regardless of those two airlines you are getting 705 experience in a major airline operation. Emirates, Cathay the list goes on. If 15 year FO's weren't making 60k a year then maybe it would be a destination job. But they aren't, so it's not. Why do you think they needed to start looking to the colleges.
I know, same shit everybody has been complaining about on here since 2005

Perhaps to gain a wealth of experience and knowledge to help make the transition to mainline easier. To see what flying for a regional airline is like prior to settling into the final job of your career etc. etc.confuzed wrote:Wow, not even hired yet and you're already planning your exit strategy...why even bother applying if you don't really want to work there?
It's quite tiring hearing people berate someone for going to Jazz but have mainline as the ultimate goal. It used to be a natural progression, why has it become selfish for someone to use the regionals as a stepping stone? The "if you wanted to work for AC then you shouldn't have applied to Jazz" logic is tragically flawed. By that rationale no one should work anywhere after training but simply apply at AC and wait, if AC is the career goal that is.

ahhh, good old internet. The tone of the message can be misread easily I guess. I was actually being completely sarcastic, but that's kind of tough to portray on here. I guess once you see the same question posted a few times over, sarcasm sometimes comes out. In light of that, congrats on the interview hope you get on.
I understand the value of going to Jazz, as I know a fair amount of people there and have heard what a great job it is to have.

O.........k. That was a lot of fun. Perhaps someone could actually answer one of the questions?
Also, I am quite excited to go to Jazz, even from a T3 carrier. I don't plan to stay 4ever (unless things drastically change), but it is still a step up (diagonal perhaps but not sideways). Hence, I don't think it is such a dim idea to figure out what the details you don't want to ask the interviewer are. I highly doubt anyone would do any different unless they are half-witted (cough[bandedpilot]cough. In the words of Shooter McGavin "go back to your shanty" or perhaps Cessna).

Nope.So I just interviewed with Jazz, say I get hired. How do I apply for an AC interview down the road? Is it automatic?
Sort of but not quite. There is more to it. Every once in a while (about once a year it seems to be averaging out). AC HR dept. will send a memo inviting all Jazz pilots to apply to mainline. Any Jazz pilot may apply. You will be required to email in your resume and your Jazz seniority number to them. There is a deadline, meaning if you don't apply you will be waiting until the next round. Once all the applications are in. Mainline will interview them in order of seniority.Do I apply online like everyone else and just click the appropriate box?
You are still encouraged to keep your online application up-to-date. flight times, addresses if you move, change in phone numbers, etc.
Well, at Jazz you have a guaranteed interview with mainline. You just have to wait for your turn. Off the street, they can call you anytime, but they may or may not call you. Now, being at Jazz you are frozen for 2 years. You may be hired a AC before that and given a sen # prior to the 2 years. But it is never a guarantee. The are Jazz pilots who have been accepted but have no number yet. Off the street , you can go and get you number when they call you without delays. Also, is there actually an aggreement for an interview in a particular order or are you no different that anybody off the street?
hope this answers you questions. Good luck with your interviews.
