Well I guess that DHL finally figured out that the cheapest option isn't the best option they have finally pulled the last of three contracts from regency express. I guess this is the begining of the end!

So that being said, where will I be able to buy a navajo ppc now?
The last one I bought lapsed after a chief pilot crippled me during an interview.
All I remember is him saying is "Ahhh, great you have time on type, where did you get your Navajo ppc, my boy?" and I said "From my parents as a Christmas present, motha flucka" ...
The next thing I remember I was in a big magical turboprop and Sulako was telling me that my fingernails and kneecaps would, indeed, grow back.

Who's Getting the Contract?
So, which runs did DHL pull from Regency, and who's going to get them now? Nav Air, Wetsex (i mean westex) or someone else?

well, when it comes down to it, there are way too many shitty companies out there - i've worked for a few myself, but the bottom line is that I hate seeing pilots out of work, and as much of a shitty company as regency may be, and I"m just going off of stories, I hope that those pilots will keep their jobs, or find new ones quick.
But I am curious, if they in fact did lose their runs for DHL, does anyone know where they went? anyone?

Amen F-16.
I've got a buddy that flies for these guys (note I didn't say work - is it really work if you don't get paid?) - and even though it's probably best for the pilots in the long run, it still sucks that they are possibly in for a rocky ride. Lets not forget that some of these guys and girls just got suckered in by some fancy marketing footwork or lied to by people in the company and now they're paying more than one price.
I think we sometimes forget that these pilots probably wouldn't have gone the route that they did if they could do it all over again - so lets not cheer about the pilots being out of work.
The company, however...

Those that think they're getting a jump-start on the industry can be described in one word - misguided.
Unfortunately for them, that decision could potentially wind up biting them in the ass down the road. I had a CP that found out I knew a guy there - and not only said he would never hire him, but he'd kick his ass if they wound up in a dark alley one day. Still, it sucks to hear about guys getting laid off - they've got bills too.

wow, i cant belive people actually feel sorry for regex "pilots". I have no sympathy for any of them and frankly if none of them ever fly again it wouldnt bother me at all. Face it, they knew what they were doing was wrong, and worse yet they knew they were doing something against the law. I personally wouldnt want to fly with any of them. Their choices show a lack of integrity, poor charactor, lack of respect for their profession and for themselves.......and thats NOT just my opinion. Transport knows your history when they come to do your ride and if they don't like your past employer they can be dicks(its scary actually how far back they go), be prepared for a rough ride. Even the insurance companies have bias against certain individuals and particular companies. We had a hell of a time getting a guy insured 2 years ago who came from a company in mb that bent lots of birds, he never had a crash but they still gave us a hard time because he worked there. Stange but true.
If you want our industry to be healthy and you want a career that you can feed your family on, keep bringing the lowlife operations into the spotlight. Pilots are the only group that can put a stop this garbage and for god sake dont feel sorry for those shitz, they are getting what is coming to them. They didnt feel bad for you as they took a job that you were gunning for with their padded resumes and bought ppc's.
BTW, Regency got shit because of pilots(NVA pilots in particular who lost their jobs to reg scabs). I know people who called transport, labour relations, and others outlets. I know someone at dhl was sent a link to this site and they probably didnt like what they read.

Ya, I agree, his comments were not really in line with what you would expect a CP to say...but I do think that it's indicative of the attitudes that some higher-up types have about hiring said pilots, and of the anger that some people have for regex pilots. Sad, but true.

Interesting comments and most are close to the truth.....
BUT..
Who regulates companies like the one in question?
Would it not make for a better industry if the regulator went after the outlaw companies and not the pilots who the regulator gave the PPC's to in the first place.....
Or am I just getting senile?

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Midnitght Sun, you nailed it square on the head. I have sat back long enough and read all this bullsh*t for soo long. Post after post some peice of sh*t with no sense of the word integrity sits here and defends these phuking scabs that make it more and more difficult for everyone in this industry. Guys and gals bustng their asses on the ramp and docks all over canada to try and get a shot while these parasites dont want to put in their time and effort that want a fast track whilst volunteering and for "experience". tell me what kind of experience are you getting from an 800hr captain. I have heard everything, from "its so hard out there right now, you have to do what you can"(while phuking everyone else), to "its the only way to get jobs nowadays"(gimme a break). I have abolutely, positively not an ounce of sympathy for anyone who goes that root.
You say fancy marketing? I'll ask everyone this, don't you think you would do some bloody research before ya fork out $5000. How about the simple fact that you dont get paid! How about looking into the future and thinking about what future employers might think of you knowing that you are apparently not worth anything because you didnt get paid. How about this comment about pilots "out of work" now that they lost this contract. OH MY G(*&D , let me breathe for a momment. How can you even think to express any sort of regard for them? All i think of is the guy on the dock every summer, the guy on the ramp all year and the guys pumping gas, etc. Getting paid, and working, yes, notice the correlation. How about them all out of flying jobs (sure they may not all be suitable candidates), but the whole point is that non-stop someone defends this group.

The shitty thing is, they these "scabs" still get good jobs after leaving Regency!!! They have experience and that's what employers and insurence companies want. The new pilot in YVT is ex-Regency,what does that tell you? He/She got a job over how many hard working rampies?
It sucks sh!t but how are we, as a group, going to fix this situation?
The only way I see it is the CP's have to say no F'ing way I am I hiring a "scab". Trust me, there are lots of qualified pilots out there (with experience) that can fill a position. It has to start with management!

Nav air and regency over all these years never really been in competition with each other. Nav air is mainly bank, with some cargo runs, and they charter each other out. Also Stu likes people with PPC as well. on the other hand westex and regency are in direct competition.
Really this isn't so much about scabs, it's a whole lot more about the chief pilot. He should be sticking up for the pilots that he is responsible for. He should be going to the owners and saying that you can't have people working for you and not pay them!! this has to stop.
The chief pilot should be the one that will never find a job in canada, hell anywhere! He drives around in his nice mercedes while his employees root through the trash for food. Then he has the nerve to insist that his pilots have neat and tidy uniforms, why? so that the company can make money and he can get season tickets to the canucks. I hope that he sleeps well at night. He is absolutely the lowest scum in the world.
It's my goal to let everyone know about him so that when regency falls so does he!
