Perimeter

I was wondering if any one had any current experiences with Perimeter. Good, bad. How was the flying, how long for an upgrade? How was the working conditions? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

So you've now narrowed it down to Perimeter instead of thinking about Bearskin as well? Are you going for the ramp or DE flightline? In YTH or YWG?

I'd say PAG's a good place to be. Lots of flying, lots of plane diversity, a good crew of pilots, decent wage, generous yearly uniform allowance, good benefits, a portion of the medical is paid and holidays are all part of the package.

Is it too late to goto the Bear? My experiences were not so good with Perimeter. Good Luck whatever you do.

What happened? Bad experiences with over 20 turbines in the fleet? Bad experiences with a 703, 704, 705 company? If you have what it takes to get flying, I look at PAG as being the only step you need to get onto any major (only if that's what you want).

Do they ever hire fo's from outside the company, and if so what kind of time do they look for?

all the "DE captains" that are hired from outside usually occupy the right seat for several months, ranging from as little as 3 (rare, and these ones usally wind up on the southern pavement runs for 6 months or more) to as much as 12-16 months... just like the fo's who started on the ramp. It varies a lot from individual to individual, we have FO's now that are being hurried to 1200TT because they will make better captains than someone with 2000TT or more, with zero metro time. The metro (from what I am told, its the only plane I have flown) seems to take a little longer to get the hang of then say a BE99, 100 or PC-12. But the state of the industry right now definately favours fast upgrades for those with high TT entering the company. But then again, these high timers from outside have been known to be an FO to a capt who has 1400 hours, and 3 years with the company... so beware.
