Peace Air Officially done.
Well boys and girls. We just got the word that we are closing the doors. To all my fellow Peace Air brothers it was a pleasure working with you all. Good luck. We will be having one hell of a piss up next week. I will give you guys a call on the location.

Well, I guess I was right after all. Our fearless leader has left Peace country to go to Pacific Coastal.
Peace air is dead my friends, peace air is dead. It just rolllllls off the tongue so easily.
Good luck finding new jobs to everyone except the obvious few.
I saw a Mercedes Benz and Corvette on EBay. I will start my bid at $1.

I'm devestated to hear these rumors finally substantiated by people who actually work for Peace Air. Lots of good people are going to be affected by this and I wish them all well.
Peace Air was my first job in aviation and provided me with the foundation to move on the bigger and better like alot of others on this forum, I'm sure. There were many good times with Peace Air but mostly a lot of good people who I keep running in to everywhere I go in aviation.
When you all go down to the pub tonight have one for me.
Cheers!

That's very sad, I am sorry for all of you guys.
Luckily enough, the market is like it never been in decades and I am confident most of you will find another job quickly.
How many people does it involves?

Flying an aircraft and building a guitar are two things that are easy to do bad and difficult to do right

Wow!!! What to say. Good luck getting new jobs. I actually almost shed a tear when I heard the news. Ok, not really. But I do feel for the guys and gals, both pilots and mechanics who are out of work now. I hope everyone of you have a speedy recovery and you can quickly bury this part of your life and put the memories into the supressed side of your psyche. I always thought the company was way too top heavy, but then again, what do I know.
Good luck - Adios maricon bendejo!!!!!!!!!!!!

^I am surprised we werent blamed,We fueled PA and leased them a space at YEG.When they didnt pay the fuel bill we cut them off, although they did continue to pay for the leased space we are still owed a hefty six figure amount for fuel....Will we ever get it?Not likely. And to blame EAA is weak as Integra air moved its ops from YXD to YEG and is doing the best it ever has.
Wow, that is sad. Peace Air has a lot of history and was once a well run company. Long before the Jetstreams and sked flying, Peace was my first job where I was hired with 250 hours. I had a lot of fun there and used up a lot of my bag of luck.
Best of Luck to those out of work.

The ERAA has done nothing to help smaller carriers. The already killed off QuikAir, have stopped Corpac from serving YXD thus layoffs and reduced fleet, forced Peace Air and Quik to use the terminal although an FBO was available costing more to them, didn't ask Integra if the wanted to leave YXD forced them to move. Have started a taxi feud with city cabs and after 10 years of consolidation still have hardly any international flights that they promised. Yes there is some RJ's flying here and there, and 1 flight to London which also coincides with the boom going on in Alberta.skyismine wrote:^I am surprised we werent blamed,We fueled PA and leased them a space at YEG.When they didnt pay the fuel bill we cut them off, although they did continue to pay for the leased space we are still owed a hefty six figure amount for fuel....Will we ever get it?Not likely. And to blame EAA is weak as Integra air moved its ops from YXD to YEG and is doing the best it ever has.
The ERAA is a joke to Edmonton and to all airport authority. I don't recall any other authorities taking out ads asking people to fly out of there "International Airport". People drive to Calgary because it has better service and cheaper fares.
Rectum, damn near killed 'em

When you see something like this you also have to think about the motives for making a statement like this. Mr Erickson may have been searching for a reason to add Peace Air's demise to an argument he has for changing the rules in CYXD. Having Peace Air fold could add to his favor. I would take what he said in context if you can.Airlines analyst Rick Erickson of Calgary said he'd heard for several months that Peace Air had money problems. Erickson said in an interview Sunday that Edmonton Airports' rule that only planes carrying 10 or fewer passengers can land at the City Centre Airport may have been one of Peace Air's problems.
Having a standard that pilots lose their licence after making a mistake despite doing no harm to aircraft or passengers means soon you needn't worry about a pilot surplus or pilots offering to fly for free. Where do you get your experience from?
