That looks like the Expressway Visual Rwy 31 in New York La Guardia! 8)
The big stuff flies like any other airplane and the B757 was designed for that type of airport.

Hedley,

Why do you think it is "criminally negligent" to do a Visual Approach in a large airliner?

I have done them occaisionally to gain an "operational advantage".

Sometimes you have no choice. With a strong wind or some other factor, it might be a Visual Approach or go to the alternate.

Because it is clearly something that a "prudent pilot" would not do, and it puts people's lives at risk.

Awesome approach. Anyone else notice that he actually touched down prior to the displaced threshold? Looked like a pretty short runway for a 757, no? Seemed to be going at a fair clip while already half way down the runway. Nice video.

That was a great link above for more info. on the airport and would encourage you all to read it. I remember flying into that airport once and of all the places I have set the wheels down on this planet that one still remains as one of the most memorable.
