Wilbur, let me get this straight.
They landed so hard that the gear was smashed through the wing. So now I guess the gear is laying on top of the wing and they must of bounced and knocked it off of the wing? I also have a friend of a friend who thinks he knows someone at TC and he said he was taxiing to the gate (and doing a good job) but the gate was occupied so they had to stop on Delta.

From all the pictures posted I see nothing that would indicate upward force trauma to the wing.

Looks like the force that tore the gear off was straight back.

Almost QFE. The left gear leg was torn away and folded rearward so that the tire came up through the flag. The right gear attachment casting is completely broken. One part is protruding through the top the wing, the other half folded to the rear and pushed up through the flap similar to the left gear. The nose gear is extended and appears intact. Debris damage to both engines. If I knew how, or had the inclination to learn, I would post the pictures for you. I'm sure someone will soon enough.

Heard the same from a buddy who is a maintenance supervisor for Jazz in YVR..
