All On the Water!

Post by SuperchargedRS »

I am thinking of trying to get all my training on floats (obvious reasons), does anyone know what flight colleges would do this? I am just thinking that the big ones (Seneca, Sault,etc…..) might be too structured for this to work?

Any info on what colleges have instructors CFIs that would be ok with this kind of thing? (Willing to bribe with beer lol)

Huron Flight Centre/Huron Flight College.

They have a 172 on floats and will accomadate you for your entire CPL. Give them a shout in Sarnia, Ontario. Great group of people around there.

Go and see AirTids at High Alpine Air in Nelson, BC. I'm sure that he can help you out - with the beer, too!

If you're going to travel, I second Airtids - Nelson is gorgeous, a hoot and you'll get some awesome mountain flying too.

Airtids, just send the money to Xsbank.

Thanks, folks! 8)

Just completed another float rating today for an Austrian fellow who spends his days flying a couple of Citations on Medivacs. Said this was the hardest, most enjoyable flying he's ever done.

Talk to Marg at Sudbury Aviation in Azilda. They do complete training on floats, and skis in the winter...The school has been in operation for years and produced a lot of excellent pilots. The rates are quite reasonable as well. http://www.sudburyaviation.on.ca/flight-school.php.

I'll third the recommendation of Airtids.. Don't waste your money at a college, they are only looking to make money and give you a useless piece of paper..

Just curious, has anyone ever got a job managing an airline purely by their aviation management diploma??

Tids, you owe me a beer and I'll be up there to collect it...
