Journey Log & Tec Log

Post by Crispy3M »

Anyone recall the CAR that prohibits carrying both the Tec log and Journey log together?

When the CAR’s came in the regulation prohibiting carrying the tech logs onboard the aircraft was not included.

The reference requiring carriage of the journey log on board is CAR,s 605.95 (1) http://www.tc.gc.ca/aviation/REGSERV/CA ... htm#605_95[/url]

So are you saying that the Technical Logs can be legally carried on board the aircraft along with the Journey logs?

I was sure they could not, but I can't seem to find my reference...

Bump.

More than eight years since this thread. Does the current generation of Avcanada contributors agree that there is no restriction on carrying the Tech Log and Journey log together?

I know of no CAR prohibiting it. To the best of my knowledge
there have been no precedents regarding CAR 602.01 with
respect to it, either.

While the CARs don't specifically prohibit the carriage of the tech log on board the airplane, one would be in violation of CAR 605.93 (3) should the tech logs be lost with the airplane. Maybe the least of your worries should you happen to be in some sort of accident that would be catastrophic enough to result in the loss of the documents carried on board. That said though, one might also anticipate a letter from the Transport Canada, Hell Region, Enforcement office to be the icing on the cake of one's personal damnation.

Now that's funny!

Just make sure the tech logs are safe from harm. That's all.
