ACJ desperate for dispatchers?

Post by beagle »

Today's ad on the workopolis is the 5th within a 6 months period. Someone hijacked all their dispatchers. Perhaps someone may enlighten me.

Their starting wage of 32K might have something to do with their trouble finding anyone.

Dispatchers are smarter than pilots.
That certainly doesn't put em in a special group. Even with the server upgrades that Joe made (thanks btw), the board doesn't have the capacity to host the list of occupations that are smarter than pilots.

Conversley, if you made a list of occupations that get paid less you wouldn't need much capacity.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

What's a standard wage range for a dispatcher anyway? How much do they get to at major airlines?

In the YYC area, for someone with little or no experience, Type A Dispatch operations are paying around $40K to start.

Obviously the cost of living is lower in YHZ, but it's the same job as someone out west, so why should the pay be lower?

I dont know about SSV, TSC or AC though, but I'd imagine they'd be similar to the YYC pay (AC is probably higher).

Does anyone know of any outfits on the west coast requiring licensed dispatchers?

At ACJ it is about 40K after training. I guess YHZ isn't that attractive compare to big cities.
