Having flown the 747 for many years (classic and -400) I can guarantee you that you will never see another 747 in Air Canada colours. That's not necessarily a bad thing either. Too expensive to operate.

Which one of those successful airlines is based out of a counrtty of only 33 million people who are spread over +4000 miles????

Yes, that is definetly something to consider. Canada, just doesn't have that huge market like the U.S. Therefore, it is impossible to make comparisons.
