Back in the saddle!
Well folks.. figured I'd wait till I was all well and established (and had net access) before I'd share with all of you an update.
I apparently am a miracle and heal insanely well. Also much thanks to the fantastic spinal surgeons at VGH who gave 110% to me. Wouldn't be walking without there expert decisions and work. I go back in october for one last set of x-rays to confirm everything holds up. the last set already showed the bones to be damn near healed!! A bit of muscle and nerve issues..but nothing I can't work around. SO!!!
I'm back in the game! Docs signed me off about 2 weeks ago and I've been hired by a good guy who knew all about what had happened and he's done a great job with a very thourough checkout and confidence building help. I'll do my best to make him some money and keep the airplanes in tip top shape and my passengers happy. So far so good! Lots of flying going on and still to be done.
I wanted to extend my great thanks to all the amazing people on avcanada for the positive vibes, encouragement and help. As well as all those good friends in and out of aviation. You guys know who you are so I needn't make a big long list on here. A very special thanks however goes to Cat and twotter for helping me put all this in perspective over lunches and beers etc. while I recovered.
I'm back doing what I love and having a blast. Very limited net access.. but I'll try to keep making the random little comments and positive posts I've gotten known for. Hopefully I can pass on the advice and knowledge to others as I go.
Thanks again friends! Wouldn't be here without you!
Cheers!
Mike

Good for you Rowdy,
Really happy to hear you've been given a chance to get back at it this year, well done. Please keep some pictures coming, always nice to see what folks are up to on here, and I'll keep trying to corrupt you with helicopter pics....
Have a great summer,
stl

Congrats Rowdy! Welcome back to the game.
Glad to hear the healing process didn't force you to take some alternative work while the medical was on hold.

Don't worry we'll get twotter his beer if you don't get around to it

It's better to break ground and head into the wind than to break wind and head into the ground.

Rowdy....remember you fly airplanes to get money to buy beer...you use beer to get laid.....in the north remember what I taught you.....the girls either have TB or VD...so only hump the ones who cough and don't kiss them.
Oh and tell them your name is Dale F.................

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
