I need an instructor, lower mainland.
Hi gang:
I have someone who may buy my Aerobat, but the sale may depend on me being able to recommend an instructor in the Vancouver area who can give him his PPL on a tail wheel aeroplane.
If you are interested please PM me with your credentials and your hourly rate for flying.

Well a couple of days have passed and I have not got even one PM from an instructor interested in doing a PPL for this guy if he buys my airplane.
Are there no free lance flight instructors in the Vancouver area?
Would it be easier to find an instructor to teach this person if I reconfigure the airplane to a nose wheel configuration?
This can be done in about half a day, as I still have all the original gear and parts.

Thanks, I was sort of thinking about talking to John M. to see if he had anyone who could do it...........All are high time instructors on tailwheel. At least ne of them has to do some freelance work.
However I really thought that there would be at least a few free lancers who would jump at the chance to make a few dollars doing a PPL....chit that is 45 guaranteed hours of training.......
(((((((( But first I have to sell the thing to this guy.. ))))))

Don't feel bad Cat, I posted an instructor job ad a few weeks ago for a good gig and over a couple weeks received a total of 3 instructor resumes from across Canada.
Instructors seem to be in demand at the moment and finding one to suit your needs doesn't come easy these days!
Most instructors are already employed and too busy to take on extra work it seems, or are moving up to 703/704.
I'd offer, but I'm already working non-stop as well. I was looking for freelance work earlier in the year but had to give that up due to other commitments.
Best of luck with the sale.

Thanks Ralliart:
These things swing up and down and you never know when there will be a shortage.
Anyhow if he buys it I'm sure we will find someone to train him, the secret of course is money...pay enough and you get someone.
To bad I can't give him his license, but alas I let my instructors rating lapse and I just would not be able to go through all the B.S. to renew it.

Using my own name there would be no possibility of being approved......Come now Cat, do you really think you can meet TCs level of experiance and knowledge that is required to teach a PPL in Canada?
......but if I could do a PPL using some other name and then put the student up for a test they would give me a Class 1 with gold stars...
But seriously one can only shake their head in utter amazement trying to figure out why TC is so fuc.in anal that they do not want experienced people teaching.
Then all you have to do is take a look at some of the morons they have as inspectors and the picture becomes crystal clear.

.,
I'd love to help you out. Time in Cubs, 150hp GCBC, 170s, 180s and even a 150 or two (including one that flew upside-down!)! No time in your Texas Taildragger conversion, however, and, well, you know what my location is so that may not work for you. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

I finally have sold the Aerobat to an old friend of mine and he has found an instructor who can teach on a tail wheel airplane.
Trying to sell an Aerobat converted to a tail wheel configuration was very difficult but it is finally gone.
Now I can go back to building my Cub and am looking foward to starting a flight training business without getting a FTU OC and can't wait for the first TC inspector who wants to ramp check me.
The co.ksucker will be in for a unique experience to say the least as I will tell them to fu.k off period.

Congrats on the sale, I hope you got something you're comfortable with.
I trust your FTU endeavors aren't geared to bankrupt all us poor, naive ba$tards who went through with the pursuit of an FTUOC

Very comfortable, I got my asking price without having to share with a broker.

No need to worry about what I'm going to do hurting any FTU as I am aiming at nothing other than skills upgrading of licensed pilots.
Transport can not do anything to stop me as what I plan on doing is legal.
However in that they went out of their way to harass me a few years ago when I won my case against them I'm not going to co operate with them now on any level including ramp checks.....they think they are above the law so lets see what happens the first time they attempt to ask me any questions...they had better have a warrant and the RCMP with them because that is what they will need....
Nothing will improve in TCCA until they kick Merlin Preuss's and Nowzek's asses right out of TCCA, as long as moral degenerates are allowed to illegally harass people in aviation there will be a downward spiraling of co operation between the industry and the regulator.
I have been told that someone is suing Merlin Preuss and Transport and the RCMP for a million dollars for illegal search and seisure plus illegal detainment and harassement.
If that is in fact true it comes as no suprise as I can assure you that TC does ignore the law if it serves their puropse.....it's about time someone sued their asses off.
