YWG staff shortage
just curious as to the plans as far as the staff shortage (Summer Vacation?).
Are all areas of Canada like this?
can you rotate some one from other areas of Canada?

I know it's flame-bait, but I'm going to respond anyway.
I think it's a safety issue, not a "controllers are useless" issue.
They shouldn't be taking on more than they can safely manage. If they're understaffed that number gets lower because they're working longer sessions, and more hours.
Unfortunately where a commercial airport is involved training aircraft are usually the first to be sacraficed.
I think WG terminal does an excellent job, considering their staffing situation. I've seen numerous occasions when they've accomodated training/vfr aircraft even when they've got a NOTAM issued that says they won't. Seems that as soon as they're able to fit in trainers, they usually do.

Anyone who thinks the NOTAMS and VFR restrictions are in place for shits and giggles is more than welcome to come on down to 777 Moray any day of the week, ask for me, and I'll gladly give you a tour of the Terminal specialty.
Hey Jerricho, the maid's outfit isn't a sympathetic gesture for your brothers down south, is it?
Male air traffic controllers don dresses in protest
Air traffic controllers upset about government dress-code rule are showing "their displeasure in high-flying fashion, with some men protesting by wearing women's clothing," The Associated Press writes. "The Federal Aviation Administration's dress code, instituted in September, bars jogging outfits, halter tops, shorts and jeans. Approved clothing items include dress slacks, casual shirts with collars and sweaters. Midnight-shift workers are exempt, AP says. Several times during the past year, however, male air traffic controllers have worn dresses or kilts to work, according to the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, the union representing controllers.

Wouldn't flow control be put into effect in YWG if it was needed due to staffing shortage?
Having a standard that pilots lose their licence after making a mistake despite doing no harm to aircraft or passengers means soon you needn't worry about a pilot surplus or pilots offering to fly for free. Where do you get your experience from?
nah...maid uniforms are too ethnic for my taste...however, I'm partial to long legs with pig-tails in a Catholic school uniform. Get some on YWG staff and you'll be getting an application from me.Jerricho wrote:This week it's the maid outfit.
OOOps I did it again
