I have never seen such an insecure, spoiled brat, little snaught-rag in this industry in the thirty plus years I've been in it. This guy has a problem and it's overshadowing the hard work his people are doing to earn him the millions. Pretty sad.

I agree just as a passenger on anything longer than about 45 minutes I would prefer a jet. To me it's just the noise and vibration that is annoying.
I have been on some turbo props that are not loud at all and don't mind them, but then the speed issue comes into play.
If I can avoid riding on a dash 8 I will. I think they're awesome airplanes but as a passenger the noise and vibration drives me nuts.
If I feel this way I'm sure the general public feels even stronger about it.

I also want to add into the turbulence remark, that FL400 is not a be all end all of turbulence.

Summertime "Light occasional Moderate Chop flight level 430 and below" is not uncommon.

Hell I've even heard guys at FL490 complaining of the ride and asking "Any reports ahead?"


I'd also have to check the numbers again, but as far as I remember the Dash-8 is the safest aircraft, at least in Commercial Air Transport, in the world.
