Attaching Referrals

Does anyone out there know exactly how the internal referrals are attached to your application file?

Here's my situation: I've had an application to WestJet for quite some time on Workopolis but, for some reason, the site wouldn't let me update my resume or delete it. In the end I decided to just create a new application since the application format has changed slightly since my original application. A few days ago, I clicked "delete" next to my old resume & it finally let me delete it. My question is - I have had several friends submit referrals for me and I'm wondering if they would have been attached to my old resume or if they would have been attached to the current resume? Or do they simply get attached to your name?

The referrals I've put in have no file refrence #, just a candidate's name.
