Flightexec Pilots (question)
...flying the Cheyenne, how much flying are you doing these days? Heard things had slowed down.
Peace.

What the deuce... are you both on queludes?
Clearly no reliable information in this thread.
I heard FE wants you to pay for a PPC now, is this something new? And how much does it cost? Might be worthwhile for the chance to work in Toronto... if its not TOO expensive and I can talk my parents into it.

The inside word from one of their drivers is that many are jumping ship. Can't be any more specific than that as I didn't get him to elaborate.
I remember a few years back getting the runaround from them time and time again. The "everything looks good and we'll call you as soon a something comes up and stay in touch in the meantime" story that eventually changed to "do you have any Northern Experience? Go get some time up North and you'll look much more attractive to us". Then we might give you a job.
LOL! Definitely the company that gave me the most BS on my journey up the ladder.
Happy to say that so far things have worked out just fine. Just gotta keep swinging that bat ladies and gentlemen!

You guys have it all wrong, the planes are flying just as much as usual. Guys are averages 600 to 700 hours a year.
You don't pay for your PPC, you post a training bond for $5000 dollars that gets paid back over a year with %10 on top of it. Not a bad investment. It has been like that for a few years.
As far as guys leaving, there have been a few guys that have left thats for sure but they have all gone to Jazz or Air Canada I think one went to Georgian, again not a bad thing.
And as far as Flightexec wanting guys with northern experience there is nothing wrong with that, there are guys flying there that have come from instructing and out of the office but most are from up north simply becuse they have a higher experience level and thats what the company wants. Any other questions?

What a f$%king joke. When will this madness stop? Companies can't find drivers and there are lots of opportunities right now, and MORONS are still paying money up front for their job?!?you post a training bond for $5000 dollars that gets paid back over a year with %10 on top of it. And someone thinks this is a 'good investment'....
Back out on that road again
Turn this beast into the wind
There are those that break and bend
I'm the other kind

And that in a nutshell is why our industry is F**ked up like it is. Pro rated training contract is what it should be. If you are paying money up front regardless of how much interest you are getting, you a indeed a MORON! Jetsgo anyone? The Other Kind wrote: What a f$%king joke. When will this madness stop? Also don't forget getting paid crap on top of paying paying for your job.
In response to 31T2, there is nothing wrong with asking for Northern Experience. My point was that they should have told me that off the bat and not wasted my time and gas driving to CYXU numerous times. BTW it turns out that this was their CP's way of saying PFO, as quite a few of my peers that were trying to get in there were getting the same line after being promised the world. In any case it's all water under the bridge now.
I agree paying for a job isn't the way it should be but really if you put that $5000 some where else it would be hit or miss if you made 10% on it in a year.
Sampson it sounds like they may not have wanted you for many different reasons...and telling you to keep in touch isn't giving you a run around, in this industry you could be at the right place at the right time. I think you just have negative view on life, who gets so worked up about something like this anyways?

Why did they get you to drive to yxu? I've met the CP at ykz.Sampson wrote:And that in a nutshell is why our industry is F**ked up like it is. Pro rated training contract is what it should be. It was back in the day before they moved to KZ. Like I said it's all water under the bridge now. Truth is I really don't care anymore. I'm happy to say that my career has advanced substantially beyond outfits like Flight Exec. I was merely pointing out that I had been given the most runaround by them out of all the prospective outfits that I was trying to get on with back then. That's all and 31T2 I'm not going to get into a debate with you about my outlook on life.
ykzpilot2's friend here, just reading this little thred.
My advice with the way the industry is going now is to DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Don't pull the 10 minute interview and accept the first job offer. Ask them specific questions, get the information and make an informed decision.
You sleep in the bed you make boys.
I hear nexjet is hiring?...I hear they're great

I guess if the girlfriend or parents are willing to stump up the cash then it makes the whole scenario OK? It is not like you are paying it, right?
I guess if you have to live in Southern Ontario, then all it costs is 5K. You can save that by living in the parents basement!!
When does it stop.....
