Apparently they're building a "resume pool" But everyone I know that has ever worked there has never had anything good to say. From lying to the staff about what they're going to pay them to the airline side working the employees up to 120 hours in 14 days then not paying for stat holidays because apparently they get "ample days off to compensate"
The chief pilot and chief flight instructors (both of which are trying to jump ship before it sinks apparently) are nothing but paper figures. It's a typical ma and pa company just with bigger planes.
Most employees dont last a year and are the happiest on the way out the door.

their CP has lots of exp. lots and lots of it
their old CFI also had lots of exp. last I heard he was interviewing with mainline.
They just have lots of new students (insert Pat analogy here) on how busy they are.
I did a six month stint there but decided to come back home to Manitoba. Aircraft are in good shape. of the three instructors that are still there that I worked with they know their job and do it well. If you are looking to gain some useful exp. GFT is a good place to go and Pat has plenty of stories to share.

What you need to know is, how to get what you need to know.
This is not a retreat. Its an advance to the rear.
There are only 10 people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

I know that every place will have its yeas and nay's but GFT seems to have them on a more 50/50 basis which makes categorizing the company rather difficult.
I've been to Gander and visited GFT and would live/work there in a second but the love-it/hate-it answers leave decisions in the 'air' when it comes to GFT.
If you have actually worked there (or are currently working there - no management please), input welcome - also no former students, all student think that their school was the 'best' and by default are biased.
