I have an opportunity to be interviewed by Air Canada for an AME position. My wife and I would have to sell our condo and relocate quite a long distance for me to take this job. Housing is quite a bit more affordable in the new city so I imagine we would be OK in that department.
I would like to ask some AME's that have worked for or are currently working for Air Canada: Would you work there again if you had the choice? Your input is greatly appreciated.
Would you work for Air Canada again as an AME?

I am NOT an AME.......just to be up front. I am an avionics apprentice still, however I do know many people who work there and I myself turned down a Cat38 job in YWG.
But why go there? I just recently posted a thread about this subject. Air Canada is looking for people like mad lately but it's only temp work. As soon as they get the XM mods done, those people are out the door.
I used to work there as a rampie and it was the same story. Ignore the bash at being a union bum.........just look at the simple economics. It's not enough pay for the uprooting of your life, the responsibilities and the ZERO job security.
These are just a few issues, not to mention the outsourcing issue with Aeroman (please look into this before making any decisions) in El Salvador that they recently purchased before AC sold off ACTS.
