Why don't you call the Chief Pilot and ask?

They take alot more consideration into pilots calling for info since everyone is loosing their guys.

Fixed wing side: Currently operating Lear 31 for BCAS. Have been operating King Air's as well for BCAS, but I believe the turbo prop portion of the contract is moving, if it hasn't already. Lot's of guys leaving(I think...might want to confirm) with the loss of the trubo prop contract...although, they moved some to the Lear 31. I believe there is 2nd Lear 31 on the way, if it's not already there. Don't know if they're keeping a King Air for other work or not. Also don't know if they have additional fixed wing doing other work.

The only think I know about the rotary side is they have lots of whirlie birds.

I have heard that this guy is a real wacko! I know a couple of guys that have delt with him and say he is a dinosaur. Should have retired back when the DC 3's were in production. But what ever the case, I don't have to deal with him so who cares. Apparently he has a crappy attitude. Good luck Helijet!!!!

TH is a great CP and a very knowledgeable guy. He is a pilot's CP and always wants to protect and work for the pilots, treating them with respect. He also always tries to help them advance their careers. With age comes experience....

So in your opinion pilots who flew the DC3's are dinosaur's?

Why is it so detrimental to a pilot to have flown older technology aircraft, does it somehow prevent them from learning to fly more simple equipment?

No,no Cat...I have great respect for those who have flown DC 3s. I kinda wish I could have had the opportunity. I have worked with many great guys who are older and very knowledgeable and great pilots. However, after hearing a couple of stories first hand about this guy you just wonder.

This is not an attack so much on him as it is dealing with individuals who for whatever reason, figure they can act, and get away with this type of behavior within the work place. This should not be tolerated. I know I would not put up with it. I also feel that if these sort of issues are not addressed, certain people feel that it is ok to continue to conduct themselves however they want and you better be fine with that! Well I guess I am not fine with that.

I apologize for using "wacko" (it was the first word that came to mine, sorry), but really. Experience speaks for allot, but professionalism is also high on the list of good qualities to have. I would never want to hire someone simply based on their experience. The industry is small...how we conduct ourselves plays a huge role in networking and succeeding. I have a good number if friends in aviation and I must say, a high percentage of them have the experience, knowledge and conduct themselves in a very professional manner. What comes around goes around.

Anyway, I have probably said too much...but that is my 2.7583 cents.

Thanks for the reply mister, I sort of figured that is what you meant.

There was a time when chief pilots actually over saw flight operations and decided who was suitable as company pilots.

However over the decades their positions became more and more diluted by new regs. and new management positions resulting in to many Chiefs and not enough Indians in the organizations.

Anyhow I wonder why anyone would even apply for the position any more because the position is a lose lose for any pilot.

I'm sure happy I was in the industry when things were less complicated and we actually used common sense to fly safely.

And I am estatic that I no longer have to worry about anything regarding flying for a living.

Just make sure you look out for yourself when flying, if you get there safely your passengers will be right behind you.

I telephoned the chief pilot last week to ask if they were hiring for fixed wing. His answer was a very terse "NO". Maybe wasn't a good time to call.
