TWA saab just returned to yvc on one engine, after departing for YSF. Fire in the left engine.

Flying on one in the saab is really no different than two other than you cruise at 200kts instead of 275. Not a really big deal.

Not sure where the info is from that is the third shutdown this year maybe. Which could be considered high however the GE powerplants do have some problems. Good work on behalf of the crew. It's flying, things happen.

Confirm there was an engine fire? Or just shut down?

Actually it wasn't on fire it was a shutdown and the others this year were handled quit professionally as well. Check your facts, stop slinging crap and get a life. I hear the competition has problems aswell as most companies that use machines during the performance of tasks. Is your company perfect if so prove me wrong.

Third shutdown this year for the Saabs maybe, I was talking about the company's entire fleet, not just the Saabs. You and I both know the stat can then be changed to monthly. Sure machines have failures, and bad things happen in threes but lets not kid ourselves, people tend to notice when an operator has a high failure rate and they take thier business elsewhere.

Touche! However read the other post on the subject about Transwest opening other bases. I don't want to write it again.
