WTB: Canada Goose Parka
I'm moved up north recently and want to get my hands on a Canada Goose Parka. Looking for a Resolute or Snow Mantra in size large. Prefer navy, but will consider other colours.
PM me if you have something.

Just because you move up north doesn't mean you have to buy a Canada Goose Parka duh! Unless you're planning on staying there for good. Buy a regular parka and be tough like the locals.
But you might find one here,

If You're near Yellowknife, check out Weaver and Devore, they've got tons of cold weather gear, including lots of Canada Goose stuff.
I found their Canada Goose parkas to be about $100 cheaper compared to Vancouver.
You can also order from their website, http://www.weaverdevore.ca.

So, are these parkas really worth the $4-600? If you have one, would you buy it again? what makes them so good? Would you notice any difference between these and a good North Face or Helly? They look pretty cool, but what makes people love them so much?

Some people are like slinkies, they serve no purpose, other than to make you smile when you push them down the stairs.
If yer gonna be dumb.....you gotta be tough.

I've owned two now and I would definitely buy them again. You asked what makes them so good? They truly are the warmest things out there. Search any kind of arctic or antarctic exploration pictures and damn near everyone is wearing one. I think that should speak volumes about their quality and warmth.
Some people will say that they're too bulky to do physical labour in, which is true to some extent. I'd personally rather have a coat that's too bulky, than one that's too cold if you ended up needing it in the bush.

I have an older one in medium I could part with. Pretty nice shape. I also have a large one. It's just too large. Great to sleep in, but you just can't fly in the bloody things. Way to bulky for anything but standing around watching endless work!
Re: WTB: Canada Goose Parka
My north face Mcmurdo is just as warm (and a tad bit comfier) than the snowgoose... and yes.. I've tried both. Pick whatever fits ya best!!
I don't fly with it on.. I'd burn up!! Hooray for Ground Max in the 100!!

If you're near Yellowknife, I saw a black Resolute parka in the YKtrader for $250. Here's the link:
