Bakers Narrows Air Service

Post by Reality »

I was reading a mining magazine in a dentist's office published in November of 2007 with a long wright up on BNAS and how they have both fixed wing and helicopters available for charter?
Does anyone know if they got their O.C. back?

All the machines are for lease/sale/other. Thats how they roll. Currently do not have their AOC. Another division of BNAS was bathurst air as well as howe sound seaplanes and I remember there being plans for another link to an operation in alberta. I believe a couple of their pilots are still waiting on some reimbursement. I guess I just got lucky as I had no problems while I was with the bathurst portion. Anyone know what happened to BZH?!

Let em do the course and ratings! Heck let em run the operation at the lodge!!

Just keep them from undercutting all the other operators and don't give them any breaks.

Lazyboy. Have you worked for BB?!

I'll stand behind the words that I was treated fairly while I flew a beaver for them. Mind you I was left to my own devices and far from the rest of the operation, so there could have been happenings that I was never aware of. But I doubt it. If I asked for anything, I got it and in a very timely manner. Everyone was always friendly and ANY time I had a problem, whether it was mechanical or personal I could call on em.

If anything I think the disorganization and problems stemmed from the fact that it was basically one guy trying to take on way more than could ever handle. As a lot of you know.. one or two a/c out of one locale by one person can be a real bitch. Imagine 10 planes scattered across the country! I guess you could say "too cheap to hire the required managerial staff" but hey.. thats what happens.

I left for personal reasons. Glad I did.. got to spend some quality time with my grandfather before he passed.

Maybe he's learned his lesson and will strive for tighter control and keep the operation at a manageable size!? But thats not up to you or I now.. thats in the hands of our regulator and no longer any of my business.
