There are a lot of facts and data that we're being asked to accept at face value that I'm sure some people would dispute, but the underlying message is spot on.

BTW, what does age have to do with it?

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

I'm guessing that enforcing a negative population growth globally would be the answer. Sounds like the americans have got to go for sure...

I've been working through a book called "Collapse" by Jared Diamond -same guy who wrote "Guns Germs and Steel"- it covers the histories of civilizations that self-destructed due to, among other things, mismanagement of resources and population. Inhabitants of Easter Island, the Mayans, and the Greenland Norse are among those written about. It's a good read if you find a copy. His lectures are on google video too. In it, he also talks about societies which realized thier peril and took aggressive corrective action and survived... such as the Japeneese during the Tokugawa era, so it's not just full of doom and gloom.

...now if we collectively as a socitey could pull our $#!^ together and do something constructive, that would be great.
