Not so much a joke as a story...
My dad is RCMP and one day him and another member noticed a van that would go into the centre of the road (traffic permitting) when ever they came up to an overpass. After passing the overpass they'd go back to the right side of the road. After about the fifth time this occured my dad pulled them over, and found that it was an old man and his wife. When questioned about the whole manouever, the wife said, "Go on! Tell him about your spitfire thing!" Perplexed, Dad listened as the older man informed that he was a spitfire pilot during the war and whenever they were flying low on missions and they came upon a bridge, they would travel in the centre of the span so the wingtips would clear the columns. He did it in his car now out of habit and nostalgia, and meant no harm. Needless to say, Dad let him go with a laugh.
Narrow Bridge Ahead....
