I have pictures of ASG, somewhere in the house, from 1983 or 84 when it was on big wheels in YRB.

I'm curious to know what ever happened to Charlie-GOES, NAN and NDN. Is YFT still kicking? For the uninformed, C-FYFT was a Bell Canada repair truck in Baffin. The joke was the registration stood for Can't Fix Your Fucking Telephone.

Its not that cold....just chilly. I tell ya though, 7ECA's are princesses when it comes to the cold. They wont start, even after having a heater under the cowling for an hour.

But CYYC summer nights are nice.

Try something a little different here.

This is a video I took from a helmet cam duct taped to my bucket in Yukon this past summer. The piece being moved is the fuel tank, one of the last in a drill move sequence, and this is at 7000ft on a ridge line. The wind was a very unfortunate 20-30kt crosswind, making it much harder work than usual. The camera makes the slope look totally flat, when in reality it's roughly 45 degrees.

Here's a picture of the set up, so you can have an idea of where the video takes place. Some of .'s pix are from the strip way down in the valley below.

The quality isn't the greatest, and its taken me ages to upload this thing....

Great idea with a video STL! I've never flown in a chopper but I definitely have respect for the precision involved in work like that, especially with some big winds in the hills.

Hey Lucky,

Nice shots, I stopped in there for fuel a few years ago on my way to the Eastern Arctic, was a lot greener though....

Here's a little better video, coming back to the fuel with a bunch of chokers in the hook.

Thanks guys! The nice bigger ones where I'm flying were taken by one of our fishermen, the rest were with my "new" 1970's SLR.

That's awesome STL. It doesn't look easy!

All these mountain shots bring back memories, I hope to fly in the rocks again sometime soon! Here's a set of pics from a flight in 2004. It was hazy, there were forest fires all over the coast.......

The kids fed them all of our minnow bait. Damn things kept multiplying every day! Eventually the shoreline was full of lazy ducks that wouldn't even move for the truck! Once I went to takeoff power and saw one still sitting there for a ride.
Image

I never realized the 172 had a VOR reciever...... she never told me she was riding in style all summer!

That contraption at claw lake floated away when it flooded. Now there's a real dock down the lake a ways in the deeper water, with a trail to the cabin. The crib is still there under water waiting to get run into! Lawrence & the others still look the same, except peb north had a rebuild.

Those floats got replaced last august! They're sitting in mitch's yard. And yes, I scrubbed and scrubbbbbbed. Here are the new ones:

Yeah, D&L were the best guys I ever worked with!

Ah the antique 180...best float plane I ever flew, over a 1000 hours in one, but I couldn't wait to get out of it! I could put one on like a running shoe still - never know how good we have it until its gone. Pointy spinner looks wrong, though, real 180s have that rounded thing, with the stop-drilling!

haha, you know I was there to help out for like, 2 weeks! But considering that it's a big-ish lake with those trees along the shoreline, I'm going to take a wild guess and say Bonar. I'm guessing the step in the dock is just outside the frame. I'm probably wrong anyway.
