Just out of curiosity, what kind of plane feathers into reverse? I've had the plane move forward when we feathered on a slippery ramp, never backwards.
We did slide forward. Maybe it looked backward from the right seat ( )

and some one asked what the RFI was, it was 0.27 or 0.32 (one was for 7, the other for 32. Can't remember which was which but does it really matter?) when we landed. Sand and chemicals had been applied (from the ATIS).
We found the runway to be not that bad but then again we only weighed about 13,000 lbs that nite and barely touched the brakes.

From what I could see, she must have been traveling at a crawl when she slid off the end. Hell, could have been they were turning to get off on Bravo (the runway end, taxiways and ramps just needed coupla hacks and houses! HURRY HARD!). She came to rest 90 degrees to the runway facing the direction of Alert Road/7F hangar.

From my uneducated position, it was hardly an "over-run".

Well the 737 ended up halfway between the threshold of 25 and the road that runs around the end of the runway (check out the distance on Google maps). It was stuck there until the next afternoon.

Don't you think the crew and everyone else at West Jet feel bad enough already without you twisting the knife without knowing what happened?

Today it is them...tomorrow it could be you.
EXACTLY!....I couldn't even make it to the last page of this thread because of all the shit on here....some how I knew it would end up that way

I stand corrected. I often get left/ right/ backwards/ forwards/up/down mixed up. I am attending Sylvan Learning Centre to iron the problem out.

IS this really a good idea during a landing? If that baby was hurt I guess she'd be suing westjet even though she should have been holding the baby not feeding the baby.

As for planes rolling backwards when put into feather... Gravity, wind?
Ramps aren't made level, otherwise water would be pooling.

I would think she was holding him while feeding him? And perhaps feeding him for pressurization issues during the descent. Babies can't chew gum :)

ok, next derailment, I guess. Parents are specifically briefed on how to hold their child in the brace position for takeoff and landing. I get the briefing all the time with my kids. If she tries to sue, she won't have a leg to stand on. This is getting friggin pathetic.

A WJ'er told me recently that one reverser was inop, a huge tailwind reported on approach(around 70 knots) but light on the ground, which got them high on the ILS. The CRFI was 0.3. They caught the glideslope at 100 feet and touched down fast by echo taxiway. Yet 14 was open and they have RNP approaches with low minimums and the wind was favouring it. Info could be innacurate by the time it has gotten to me.
