wow, they are low!

Too bad the taxes and fees would rape you anyway.

I notice they were almost all going east. I was clicking on that thinking "HELLO COMOX!" oh well.....

When did this info first come to light? Today?

I know you are "toungue-in-cheek" Twinpratts, but this is part of the reason our industry is the way it is. One guy cuts prices, the other has no choice but to do the same......

Do you think it will be any different when WS goes into Quebec City?

Birthday or no birthday, when WS lowers their prices to become a "Loss leader", it benefits no one, including themselves.

Have fun............ :P

I like how they call themselves WEST Jet, but all the departure cities are from central and eastern Canada. Weren't the started in Calgary? And no flights from there on their birthday? Lame

I don't think WestJet is worried about any kind loss buddy, have you seen their financial numbers lately? Think they got a handle on smart business practice.

Um, yeah, I have.

All the owners are worried about a loss, it is after all, how the green is paid back right? If I have 20% of my paycheque invested each month in the company, I am concerned about any changes in the way they do business.

Like Real Estate right? It can only go up......

Every airline in Canada has been doing some sort of price cutting to stimulate interest, market penetration, or just good old predatory pricing long before Westjet came along. I some how don’t think our 1 day sale will effect us much, but will pay off nicely in the additional (positive) publicity we got.

You are right, I was fishing. I will stop that.

But, the sale is still a loss leader. You cannot argue that when companies do this, it just about forces others to do the same. Remember Jetsgo? Both WS and AC had to accomodate that crap, is was a no-win situation for everybody, except Joe Passenger.

Happy Birthday.

AC does predatory pricing all the time with their flight passes. I bought their winter getaway pass and have been flying all over the bloody place dirt cheap.
