Which to write first, SAMRON or SAMRA

Post by algore »

Title pretty much says it all fokes.
Getting ready to write the A's, and I figured I'd procrastinate the studying a few more minutes by asking which exam people suggest writing first SAMRON or SAMRA, and why you think your order is best.

Thanks

gday mate,

been about 5 years since i wrote them, i was pressed for time so did both on the same day!!

i wrote what i thought was the harder of the two (cant remember which one that was now! sorry) first as i thought no point in doing the easy if i fail the first one.

but like i said, i had only one day to do them so if time is on your side, i would do which ever one u feel most confident in first.

either way you'll have to knock em both over

best of luck!!

They're both easy. The Saron was relatively easier though. I wrote them both in the same day with a 10 minute break in between. The Samra required a little more work since it involved w&b calcs, GFA interpretation, etc.

Does anybody write the exams on seperate days anymore?

I wrote both mine on the same day, I did take an hour off inbetween so I could grab something to eat.

Write whichever one you think is easiest for you, this way it will boost your confidence for the second one.

Saron, a bunch of memorizing laws and reading performance charts
Samra, weather maps, TAFs, METARs

What are you best at?

Wrote the Saron a couple months ago, and the Samra today.

Study for Samra:
Air Command Weather Manual
AIM- Met 3.x
AIM- Com- Radio Aids/GPS
CMNPS, MNPS, RVSM
Radio Nav theory.

Study Material for Samra:
Air Command Weather Manual
C******
A.I.M.
Aerocourse Workbook (worth the investment. Some questions are fairly close)

I don't remember enough about my study habits for the Saron, but the material was the same.

Hope this helps.
